He's just getting the Danault story in now because after they are done with their Mem Cup run, he's going to be skating with the Hawks.

Well maybe not, but the marketing is in place if he wants Danault as an option.

It's how the Jesus dog and pony show started. Next will be a facebook poll titled "Is Danault the #1 prospect in the system?"..

So that's the rumour. Habs and Hawks are not talking tradebwith each other. They are trying to convince one another to layoff

Many on this board wanted to project the outcome of a regular season game against the Ducks as proof we couldn't hang with them in the playoffs, while at the same time tying to tell us that a good regular season record has nothing to do with winning in the playoffs.

A Ducks-Hawks series would be a great match-up of speed and power which either could win. One or two regular season games don't mean sh!t; or else the Ducks better hope they don't play the Wings, as they clearly can't handle them.

Hawks are 0-1-1 versus Anaheim. You're right. Book the parade.

Here's the other thing: you keep talking about Detroit like they're a bunch of pansies and always have been. And . . . you keep being wrong.

Helm, Abdelkader, Smith, Kronwall, Bertuzzi . . . They have guys who can hit and play. Usually always do, but the skill level and youth is not what it used to be.

Why does it matter that the Hawks lost to the Ducks in the regular season (count the SOL if you'd like), but we should look past the Ducks getting their butts kicked by the Wings?

Can't have it both ways - either the regular season matters or it doesn't.

You do a lot of putting words in someone's mouth for a guy who doesn't react well when others put words in his mouth... Never said they are/were pansies. Their skill players are tough, too. I'd be happy with more of those - skilled players who can play on a puck possession team who are also tough.

No. What I heard many suggesting was that the Hawks incredible record against also rans in the regular season means little, while their 2 losses to the other dominant team in the west (and likely playoff opponent) is cause for some concern. That's all, try to keep up.

And do the wins against the Kings mean anything? How about those against the Wild? Or Detroit? I thought not.... Since the Ducks game ended it has been constant hang dog, Hawks can't beat Kings, Ducks, Bruins. I have also said many times I'd be happy with a physical player that can actually play hockey. So you try to keep phucking up, Jack. BTW - no need to act like a condescending pr!ck.

Edit: and speaking of keeping up, there's a new thread out there.

Also rans?? The Hawks are 12-1-2 vs the teams currently in playoff spots 2 thru 8. 4-0 vs a bluejacket team that was playing tough before they went on their current 8-0-4 strk and are pushing hard for the 8th spot.

And vs the current "also rans": Edm, Flames and Aves...a horrific 4-2-0.

And vs those awesome physical ducks those softie hwks managed to be ahead or tied for most of both gmes. Wonders never cease!

Well said, Bogie. When we do well it is to be discounted, when we lose it is cause for panic. And when the Ducks lose to Detroit....means nothing. Also, regular season games mean nothing (the playoffs are a different game) unless they mean everything (we lost to the Ducks, we might not beat them in the post-season). Wonders indeed!
