Frankly, based on what he said, I'm glad he's not in the locker room. It's not the goalie's comments fault that they're in a poop situation.

Of course, the reality is that he was talking for a Pittsburgh audience.

I don't think Tocchet has ever liked Bryz.

This is a legal hit in the NHL.

Great job, Shanahan

We had to know if he actually said it though.
- NickTheKid87

That's the point. I really don't care whether Tocchet said it or not.

I don't quite detect the 'hate Bryz to get attention' vibe I get from Panotch, but you may be right. I don't pay much attention to Tocchet, to be honest. He always comes across as a 'strictly teleprompter' type on the air.

I think Tocchet doesn't like him as a hockey player. I don't think he has a media agenda like others.

Hard to believe that a dude that looks like that and follows wrestling as an adult isn't a bigger hit with the ladies.

/no it's not.

- johndewar

I'm just amazed he was cool with that as his publicity shot.

Sorry, loved the guy when he played here, but he showed his true colors when he left. And has done nothing since then to redeem himself, at least not in my opinion.

Easy...Lupul plays for the Leafs. Shanahan never played for the Leafs. Nash plays for the Rangers. Shanahan played for the Rangers.

Same theory explains why Kronwall never gets suspended despite leaving his feet on at least 90% of his big hits.

I really though Shanahan would be good in this role.

He's basically turned into Colin Campbell but with slick video production.

The problem is, Shanny's a figurehead. Colin Campbell still runs the show, just lacks the title.

Anyways, if the team couldn't handle Bryz's comments, they have some manning up to do.

- BulliesPhan87

Exactly!

Bryz was not out of line saying that. It was a fact. If they lost those two games their playoff hopes were gone. He was right.

And what makes it worse is after he said it, the team didn't respond.

They didn't lose both. I'm glad their playoff hopes are still raging like an inferno.
