Part of the reason of the big pads is the modern sticks flex and whip those shots off. I think much like aluminum baseball bats, they should limit their flex just like tet started limiting aluminum baseball bats hit power.

Chance are, with bigger nets they might scale their pads down a little anyways so they can move easier

That doesnt change anything drastically. Do the math over the past 10 years. Out of 16 playoff teams, you may see like 3 teams max make any movement.
You should get zero points for a loss. Regulation, Overtime, Shootout loss = zero points.
Regulation, Overtime win = 2 points, Shootout win = 1 point.
