Bickell appears to have motivation issues at times... he's worth near league minimum now and will be no more than $1.5 mil/yr so no point of signing him while he keeps playing for that next contract.

Stalberg I would re-up sooner than later if his agent and Stan are close.

Hey Ty. Fellow GTA'er here. Was curious, you said the othe day that I think it was Elliot Friedman that walked in front of your office. You working for TSN?

Hello Sir! Always nice to see GTA Hawks' support. I hosted some Hawks fans at Shoeless Shoes (King St. downtown) for a game, you'll have to make it out next time.

I actually work at Elliot's birthplace... The Score. I've been there for 5 years in the Sales department. He was just popping in for a visit - he still have strong ties with us.

Finally caught up. The name of an up and comer that makes the most sense to move if you're looking to add grit would be Kruger. Love the kid's game, but replacing him with an Ott type would be the biggest impact (pun intended) Stan could make on this team.

>Totally agree with your thinking on this
>Al, JJ -- are you guys hearing anything on how far away Sharp is to returning?
>Know he is skating
>Having both Sharp & Hossa with shoulder injuries makes them 1 hit away from being hurt again -- and makes SBow's job of what to do a bit more difficult -- unless both return at 100%
>No real second line = no Cup, unless the F/O has a strong plan "B"

In my fantasy world, here is another cliche I would like to retire. So maybe we never have to hear it again, but every player is one hit away from being hurt/retired. Dan Patrick said it best 20 years ago, that is when declaring some player was listed as day to day, he added, but then again, aren't we all.

9 out of 10 times I agree with this.

However, there are just some guys that have chronic injury problems, and sometime they can be viewed as such. I don't believe Sharp and Hossa to be those type of guys.

Right about now, could Columbus make the argument that Nash was a big part of the problem all along?

Maybe, but to be fair, Howson had that whole situation phucked up before Nash wanted to leave.

Yet, the Rangers went form a #1 seed last year to seriously scraping this year. What's the biggest difference from last year?

Nash has been there best player! It's the other big names like Richards and Gaborik who are the problem... Or maybe what they gave up to get him!!

The one thing I liked about NY fans and teams when I lived out there. They were not full of themselves.. Even Yankee fans!

Since the Avs are pretty much done do you think there's any chance they may be willing to deal McGinn? He has another year left on his deal but it's a reasonable cap hit $1.75 million and he's an RFA afterwards. I know Colorado wouldn't be super stoked to trade him, but he's the type of player we could certainly use. Maybe I'm just dreaming here...

He was a guy I mentioned during one of the games with the Av's as a guy that would look good in the Indianhead.

nobody knows Bolland better than Bergevin so it makes sense.
I don't know anything about Eller----just hope he steps up in playoffs

As far as Tinordi is concerned.....maybe he'll be a player......maybe not...
but I tend to doubt that the Montreal D was so good they couldn't find a spot for him.......didn't his father cheap shot and really hurt Roenick

I can't blame Stanley for moving Leddy if his agent lied to the organization--you can't do business with guys like that but couldn't that wait until we didn't need a PP anymore.....like in July.....maybe Doug Crossman's coming back

My problem isn't with the fans, it's with the teams and the way they are diefied by the media (especially ESPN) at the expense of the rest of the country.

Bingo!

Also with Prust, Fedetenko, J. Mitchell and Rupp all leaving... that's a lot of groceries you're parting with just to fit Mr. Nash in. I think that deal, as great as Nash is, will set them back a bit.

With the Avs coming into our division next year, zero chance of this happening would be my guess.

Sharp - Ott - Kane???
- DarthKane

Great balance for sure...

Ott to hit the opposition.
Kane to hit the back of the net.
Sharp to hit the posts.

Eller would be an amazing add for next year and next contract when he reaches his prime. He'd look great alongside Hossa I think. EDIT: but losing Bolland for him now might not be the right move.

Tinordi will be a player for sure but you give Leddy up for him, you have to find someway to replace Leddy's offensive upside as Tinordi has none.

I understand the grudge one might hold in the fornt office with Leddy and his agent but the fact of the matter is you only have to just negotiate this contract... say a 3 year deal and then you don't have to deal with his agent in depth for a while. Grow up and get over it front office... that is unless they have a different idea on the back end. I just don't think Clendenning is ready yet and they don't have an offensive guy to replace him in the system. Someone who would make sense from MTL would be Diaz. He's a solid PP guy and makes some great decisions.

It will be interesting to see how it works out. The Rangers now have 4 huge contracts, the Wild 3 and the Ducks 2. I'm very curious to see how those teams look with the lower cap in 14-15.

McGinn is a good dude as per the lady friend and her brother... he grew up in Fergus, ON (2 hours outside of Toronto)... small town kid making it in the show. He is humble and would be a solid character guy but like mentioned above, doubt he'd be traded in-conference.

Are they revising the playoffs to the old way with the realignment? I don't remember if this was mentioned when it was approved.
