You do understand it's up to Iggy, not Feaster?
- whipper334

To agree to it....its up to Feaster to push it.
It doesn't seem like feaster wants to do that,......he still thinks you can squeek into the playoffs.

You put Kipper back in the playoffs and you'll be amazed!

And Kipper sure would make good ole Phaneuf look a lot better than he does right now.

It wouldn't be terrible to trade for Kipper....but no way in hell would Gardiner be involved.
Kipper is having a bad year....he's bottom 3 in save percentage and GAA.
I could see it being a 3rd, a B prospect and a bottom six forward...maybe Mac.

- Fakepartofme

I understand he isn't having a great season but come on......a 3rd, a B prospect, and a bottom 6 forward? Or for those who can do the math = practically nothing? He can still be one of the best goalies in the league, he's had a tough season, but there were no exhibition games this year, he was injured for a month, and he just missed a game due to the birth of his son. Needless to say, the fact that he hasn't played up to his standard in only 12 games of a lockout shortened season doesn't render him worthless.

Oh Im not saying he's not a good goalie by any stretch...just saying his stats this year are horrible, along with him getting holder could impact the quality that comes back.
That's all Im saying. Im sure he would be great in the playoffs.

This is the single most important part. There is virtually no sample size to judge him by at this point.

In a normal season Kipper would have 12 games played in October. If he had these numbers on Nov 1st would anyone be questioning his ability? Of course not.

GMs still know how good he is. He's demonstrated it pretty consistently for the past 11 years.

I never said he was worthless.
Chill...breath.
He's just not worth Gardiner and any other player.
MAc isn't a bottom six forward. (although I just re -read my original and noticed I did say bottom six forward and than mentioned mac....my bad....I'll change that).
But that would be starting point. A player of Mac's pedigree, a 3rd maybe a 2nd and a prospect...but not a top high end prospect.

Even if we wanted to move Kipper it would be tough. Any teams that are contenders already have good goalies (except maybe Pitt) so Calgary needs to find a team like TO who will probably make the playoffs but have questions in the net. Other than TO I don't know who else falls into that category. So to get a great return might be tough. Although it would be much better than you suggested.

you know, Tortorella fights with everyone, anyone. It's a shame. This is him trying to get the focus out of his loss and poor coaching.

C'mon, last year Kipper just about carried us into the playoffs himself. Your using a small sample of this year to write off a guy to worthless. I think Toronto & Calgary could pull off a trade & be trade partners but if Leafs truly dont think goal tending is an issue going into a potential 1st playoffs in years, then yes no deal here. Agree, if we can get Gardiner then we probably cant get a 1st, otherwise a 1st plus a dman, Gunnarson or someone like that would probably work. Your 1st will be a late round one if you make the playoffs & Leafs do have lots of dmen that could slip in if we pull a major deal with JBO. You wont get him for nothing, personally, I'm more in favour of keeping Kipper & going next year with him & Ramo. If you want him, it has to be attractive. So its either a very short convo or a decent hockey trade could very well happen. With our track record with the Leafs, I could care less if we trade with you guys ever again.

It was written in Boston today that 'whispers from Calgary' say Iginla wouldn't want to come to Boston unless he assured that he will not be stuck on the 3rd line. Is there anyone saying that in Calgary? The writer posed the question whether the Bruins should want Iginla if he isn't willing to play on the 3rd line. If I were Iginla I wouldn't want to play with a combo of Peverly/Caron/Pandalfo either.

Appearantly Feaster and Chiarelli spent some time together at the Leafs game last night. I have no reason the believe if Krejci is out long term anyone would consider Boston a favorite to win anything, I'm sure that would make Boston less appealing than Pitt or my sleeper trade to Montreal.
