I honestly don't think it's a good fir for kipper in TO, I don't know how many times a goal was scored with him and dion looking at each other when he played 20 min. Game , now dion plays 30 min .... Kipper plays a lot like quick and needs stronger defensive players around him to take out players in front of the net when he comes out 20 feet to challenge a shot and there is a rebound . I hope they trade him to get something but maybe not TO..... Unless they over pay dramatically of corse lol |

Names? - whipper334
Mark Mcneil and Kyle Beach or if not Beach , Mcneil and a roster player Bolland or Frolik |

i can see the logic in holding on to him until the offseason. with ramo coming its good on feaster to wait and see what transpires than trading the guy thats keeping the flames soomewhat relevant.
its looking more and more like iggy might be the guy packing eh?. first domino to fall. better be (frank)ing Boston!
also colin, lets be honest the preds are much better than the flames. the preds are a scary team to be playing today after such losses. - munky123

No thank you to Beach. McNeil and Bolland would be fantastic though. |

Yeah I guess. Isn't McNeil going to be another 2nd line centre? |

It was written in Boston today that 'whispers from Calgary' say Iginla wouldn't want to come to Boston unless he assured that he will not be stuck on the 3rd line. Is there anyone saying that in Calgary? The writer posed the question whether the Bruins should want Iginla if he isn't willing to play on the 3rd line. If I were Iginla I wouldn't want to play with a combo of Peverly/Caron/Pandalfo either.
Appearantly Feaster and Chiarelli spent some time together at the Leafs game last night. I have no reason the believe if Krejci is out long term anyone would consider Boston a favorite to win anything, I'm sure that would make Boston less appealing than Pitt or my sleeper trade to Montreal. - GSDIV
I haven't heard anything like that...and I have a tough time believing Jarome would say that. That being said i'm not really sure what Boston's line combo's are, or if they mix lines up often etc. Using Jarome as a third liner very smart IMO however, he's still a top line guy! |

As much as Iggy wouldn't want to go there and play on the 3rd line why in the hell would Boston trade for him (give up assets) to put him on the 3rd line? |

Yeah i'm not seeing this logic...given the Bruins need some offense, getting a guy like Iggy and throwing him on the third line makes no sense! |

Is it just me...or does everyone seem to think Kipper and Iggy are junk? All this chatter over the past few years about them getting old etc. and fans of other teams are really buying in!
If they all watched this team night in, night out, they would know Kipper is still a great goalie and Iggy is still a top line guy! |

It's only the trolls dude IMO. Anyone that wouldn't want Iggy on their team is not right in the head. |

Ya, most of the teams discussed wouldn't/shouldn't be giving up assets for a 2nd/3rd line rental; I think he is either going to LA (because he will resign there since he is friends with Sutter, and it is closer to Calgary/Kelowna and his family/friends), or stay in Calgary (family/friends etc). |

I don't think they would put him on the 3rd line, he'd probably play with Krejci and Lucic. The writer was wondering if Iginla would make a good fit in the locker room if he was the kind of guy to demand which line he was on before waiving a no trade. I was just wondering if you guys have heard that or not. |

Yet he'd play with the best center he's every seen in years. |

They'd be able to run 3 lines, which would have benefits in the playoff grind. |

It wouldn't be terrible to trade for Kipper....but no way in hell would Gardiner be involved.
Kipper is having a bad year....he's bottom 3 in save percentage and GAA.
I could see it being a 3rd, a B prospect and an average forward...maybe Mac. - Fakepartofme
I can't see Kipper being moved at the deadline; possibly the draft. However, if he were dealt, it would have to be a package that convinces Feaster to possible end the season. I like the Bozak, Gardiner idea. Although Bozak isn't THAT young, 26 I believe but not bad. I think it may make more sense for TOR to offer Grabo, I hear from TO fans that he isn't fitting in with Carlyle and his cap hit balances of Kipper's. Kipper's actual dollars may bring back a littler more for us. Does Phaneuf have the ear of Nonis? If so, I'm sure he is talking alot about Kipper's ability to steal games, even in an off season.
I honestly think if Kipper and Iggy get moved they would be reinvigorated. They have been carrying this team for so long, a new look may be good.
Kipper + for Grabo and a 1st. |

They wouldn't because
Ek (e4)'d it last week so we can confirm now Iggy is not coming to Boston
Lucic or Horton should be on the 3rd line if he came here.

Even if we wanted to move Kipper it would be tough. Any teams that are contenders already have good goalies (except maybe Pitt) so Calgary needs to find a team like TO who will probably make the playoffs but have questions in the net. Other than TO I don't know who else falls into that category. So to get a great return might be tough. Although it would be much better than you suggested. - whipper334
Read today that CHI has inquired about Kipper. THAT... could be a good return. Then we can stuff this stupid bottom 6, B prospect and crap drat pick nonsense. Any deal with the Leafs will have a 1st or top prospect + |

Kipper on this years CHI team playing with Crawford!?
..question is, what would you do with Emery? I think Emery to the Leafs might be better, personally. |

There seems to be a lot of fear in giving up prospects. I seriously don't get that when you have a legit shot at the cup and especially for teams like PIT. They seriously have 5 or 6 D prospects that will likely be NHLers at some point. It's not likely PIT would use them all. This is how it has always worked, build up the team and organizational assets to the point where you can make a run and trade for the best possible pieces to compliment your team to win it all. PIT, St. Lou and others are not destrying their prospect depth completely by making a a trade for a good player. |
