The Wings were the better team last night, they just couldn't burry it.....even Pav missed an open net.
Minnesota had a hot goalie and took advantage of the 2 terrible calls ......still dont understand why Kroner got a double minor?
Cant see getting a #2 defenseman this year.....lets hope Holland has been on the horn to Suster and Dekeyser - Muskoka88
I think sustr already went to Vancouver |

Not really sure how you conclude the Wings were the better team in a 4 - 2 loss,(really 4 - 1) with the 2nd goal being in garbage time with 30 seconds left to play.
Missing open nets and taking double minors along with allowing 4 goals on your home ice certainly doesn't seem to indicate you were the "better" team. Shots on goal really don't mean a damn thing if none of them end up in the back of the net, and it's certainly no indicator as to how well a team played. Personally I think the Wings were outskated, outhustled, and outscored. The Wild won 2 of 3 vs Detroit, don't think there's really any question about which is the better team is at this point. |

Clearly you didnt watch the game last night or have no understanding about the game of hockey. The score does not always reflect who was the better team.
First of all we all know the first goal scored should of counted because there was no contact made with a high stick. Secondly where does Kronwall's double high stick come from that lead to a goal?...the guy wasnt even cut.
I think we all understand SOG are not a clear indicator of how well a team played. (Thanks tips) After all this is the Wings we are talking about, they usually out shoot their opponent on a nightly basis.
Yes the wild have won 2 outa 3 this season, but in no way shape or form does that make them the better team. The wild have NEVER had a better year than Detroit, and this one isn't over yet. Not to mention the wild are in the weakest conference in the league.
With that being said you might as well get outa here, cuz nobudy cares for your opinion. and I bid you a good day sir.
EDIT:
My bad.......Mini did have have one playoff run that was better then Detroit. It was the year after Detroit won the cup, and 5 years before their next cup. |

As impressed as I normally am when some homer Wings fan spouts off about their teams championship history, it's a pretty lame attempt at masking what is undoubtedly as true as true can be, and that is Detroit is no longer the better team.
I realize it might be painful for many Wings fans to have to concede their team is no longer the power house it was for so many seasons. But they're not the same team, sorry to say. Would think that much would be obvious(at least it is to everyone else in the league).
Which isn't to say they're a bad team by any means, but they are no longer better than many NHL teams icluding the Wild, and were not the better team last night, nor the past 2 meetings with Minne. Not taking anything away from the proud history of you're celebrated and accomplished franchise. No doubt one of if not the best team over the past 20 years.
Unfortunately all good things come to an end. If you honestly think Detroits current team is better than a younger, more talented roster in the Minnesota Wild, then certainly you sir, are in denial. Good luck with that...
ps. I'm not sure on this, but I think last time I checked there are only 2 conferences in the NHL, if the Wild are in the weakest, which one are the Wings in???...

A seven game playoff series will determine who is the better team. The regular season doesn't mean squat. Especially when the Wild and Wings have only played 3 games. Ask any Kings fan or Wings fan. |

Really? Now you are coming to a Wings thread and giving us a lesson on the history and current state of the team.
Yes I do think the Wings are the better team when healthy, as do most people. Guess you havent heard but they have been one of the oldest teams in the NHL for years. In fact I think they might have been the oldest team in the league last time they won the cup. So to say mini is a better team because they are younger is just plain stupid. BTY its the youngest team they have had in awhile.)
Sorry if you were unable to figure out I ment division rather then conference. But in all honesty I wouldnt expect that from a troll like you.
Once again I bid you farewell lil man (that means fuk off) |

There is no one I would rather see the Wings meet in the first round then the wild. The guy is just lonely and needs someone to take to.....just look at his posts in mini's thread. |

Fair enough. But I think it's more than obvious the Wings are no longer the team they've been over the past several seasons. I know the Wild are still not a great team, I know this. But when they can beat a team like Detroit as handily as they did last night and 2 out of 3 games, (and quite frankly Detroit didn't really look that great in the last win against them) it doesn't take a genius to see that the worm has turned. But I digress.
I just think that Minnesota clearly has the younger more talented roster with enough veteran talent and leadership than does the current Red Wings roster. I'm not necessarily saying last nights game is proof of that, but the Wild were in fact the better team in last nights game as well as the last game.

I like Minnesota's makeup this year, definitely have strength at every position but can't say I'm too familiar with their depth. I only caught a bit of the game last night but the wings were already down and looking flat, and I think most people would agree they've looked shaky for a lot of the year. At the same time, they have had some very impressive games so they can still put it together to play pretty well but that can really be said for just about any team. |

No doubt the Wings are still a good team. I mean Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall, Samuelson... all good to great players. Honestly, I don't know what Detroit's prospect pool looks like but it's probably pretty decent knowing the organization. My point was simply that the Wild have a lot of talent on their roster as well, along with the top pool of prospects in the NHL, and they've played 2 pretty good games at the Joe this season,(a place where the Wild have traditionally played terrible) coming away with a win last night as well as a win at the X. The next season and a half should tell the tale whether they're contenders or pretenders. |

OMG!.....Your still here trolling?? Your just like having a bad case of crabs.....you never go away. BTY nice edit job on your previous posts, done in a cowardly fashion.
You do realize you basically just admitted not having knowledge about the Wings and their organization. But yet you come here telling us mini is a superiour team because they are younger. Care to elaborate?

Actuality Stevie sniped him for Tampa yesterday, witch is no suprise because he had connections there.
But on Sunday night we find out if WMU makes the turny or not.......meening if DeKeyser will be up for grabs sooner.
I'd be shocked if DeKeyser signed somewhere other than Detroit, and here's why, Quote:
1. It's common knowledge that Detroit is his favorite team.
2. He's very close with the Nill family (although Jim has claimed he'll be fine with it no matter where Danny signs)
3. His former coach is Blashill, whom he seems to have liked playing under (a little speculation, I guess)
4. The Wings have made their interest very, very clear (showing up with 7 members of the front office, etc) which likely also means they know they're going to have to pay him the right price. They've seen the other scouts there.
5. The Wings are, for once in a blue moon, weak on D. A post-Lidstrom Detroit would be perfect for a guy like DeKeyser, and his agent wouldn't hate the decision.
Potential downsides though:
1. The Wings will probably want him to play in GR for a year. Other teams might offer NHL time right away. I think this is softened by the fact that Babcock lobbies really hard to get his players into the NHL (see Smith, Brendan) and I think DeKeyser would be a Babcock favorite.
2. The Wings might not offer the same cash. I don't know that there's anything to soften this one. Kenny loves to do this. My only hope is that Nill won't let him low ball too much out of respect for the kid.

Dude, you need to relax. Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't make them a troll. From what I've seen, he's (?) conducted himself in a very respectful manner, advancing the topic of conversation, and generally trying to have a discussion. The guy made some decent points.
At this point in the season, I would agree that Minnesota is the better team. I think the standings accurately reflect where we measure up to the rest of the conference. If you think the Wings are going to go anywhere in the playoffs, IF they make the playoffs, you're dreaming. This team, as it stands now, is not built to win in the playoffs. They just aren't. I haven't seen anything from this year's team that would lead me to believe otherwise. I think most agree we need a top 2 D-man and a top 6 sniper, and as Ken Holland says, the trade deadline is where you tweak your team for a playoff run, not build it. |

Wow. No wonder no one else in this blog seems to back or care about what you say because they most likely want you off their side.
With every post you continue to reveal that you are obviously handicaped by an almost blinding level of immaturity. You're so obsessed with being right and defending anything negative muttered about your team that you have no idea how to engage in an intelligent conversation. Someone disagrees with you and your knee jerk reaction is to attack them with grade school rhetoric. I've conceded that the Wings are still a good team, I just don't think they're a better team than the Wild at this point, nor were they the better team on Wednesday.
But enough about trying to talk hockey with you, it's clear you have no interest in having an adult conversation whether you agree or disagree with my take. All you're interested in is being a complete Richard. I find it very telling that even other Wings fans in your blog are more or less telling you to STFU. That's kind of sad, but funny.
With that, I think you should go back and finish school. It's obvious you decided to drop out at a young age so you could spend your days being an out of work dope that contributes nothing to society aside from being a financial burden on your parents. Good luck in your future. Something tells me you're going to need it.
