MTL was being scouted more than Buffalo. However, Buffalo is very interested in one Hawk player. Buffalo isn't dealing Hodgson and likely not Ott.

Leddy could be moved. One package I've heard brings back a guy who might project as a 2C but really isn't that now. I don't believe the Hawks are placing that specific a price tag on him, FWIW.

From Buffalo? Grigorenko is the only 2nd line possible center of the future on their roster? Montreal? Eller

The question is who would be the center coming this way....???
- Al

Bozak or McClement.

Bear in mind, it likely is Frolik +, not 1 for 1

And yes, if you're wondering, rumors are really flowing in the last 18 hours

Having Stalberg on the third line gives the 'Hawks a lot of leverage in a negotiations. I'm not stating that his position on the roster is a result of an impending negotiation strategy - but it has to factor in in the here and now.

But his agent knows the same and it isn't like the Hawks can go to arbitration.

How about David Jones of the Avalanche as a comparable? I know Jones netted 27 goals a couple of seasons ago but look at the '11-'12 seasons for Jones and Vik and the stats so far this year. Jones has an AAV of $4 mil.. Yikes! Granted the Colo GM Sherman isn't projected to win any Executive of the Year Awards anytime soon.

Not sure he is meshing well in the dressing room. Also not sure it's all his fault.
- John Jaeckel

I know last year, he used to roll with Montador and Emery a lot of the road. He is maybe getting pushed to the side with the Rockford connection of Shaw, Kruger, Leddy, Bollig, etc.

At least his contract is movable.

Eklund's info. on Toronto and the Hawks is likely correct. They have been talking about Michal Frolik. Pirri has entered those discussions as well.
- John Jaeckel

Pirri would make sense... his youth hockey days were in the GTA and he may get a sniff with the Leafs before the Hawks.

Bollig's stock is on the rise, but I don't think that has anything really to do with CarBomb's situation.
- John Jaeckel

Not meshing well with other players or coaches?

So Frolik & Pirri plus maybe a lower pick for Bozak? Is that a fair deal?

Wondering if Bollig has made Carbomb expendable?
- ikeane

Bollig's playing very well of late...but to JJ's point about him not meshing...isn't that a failure of vision by the GM. Shouldn't the GM and coaches research and talk over how good a fit a guy is/will be ?

I'm sure the brass said all the right things when Carcillo came on board, but his fall from grace is especially troubling, given all the time and support the Hawks' have invested in him during his long rehab and then the shorter rehab this season.

He may be small but he's a little pitbull, he won't back down from anyone.

And Lepisto. And Montador is kind of a forgotten man now, too.

Frolik, pick, prospect would be kind of tall order for UFA and frolik still has years on contract remaining

I thought for sure it was Juan Epstein.....

It goes deeper than that and players on the ice, heard Scotty was there talking to Bergevin to see what it will take to pry Al Cimaglia away from Hawks to head up Canadiens blog. Lots of moving pieces, but Marc likes Al a lot and rumor has it, brokered some real estate too....

I am just kidding around and mean no disrespect to Al, just levity.

Where would you play Bozak? He isn't a top two centerman in Toronto who are weaker in the middle than we are.

Normally yes, but the only bonus in trading Frolik is the cap space it gives you. It makes it easier to re-sign Vik & Bick.

I'm certain I have only heard a small fraction of the whole story. What I do know is Carcillo has at least tried to do the right things. And there's some other detail that I won't go into that makes me believe it has not been easy for him all the time.

Now I get it! Your comment that the Hawks hit as much they are hit was a joke too!!!
