Granted, Sharp and Hossa not in the lineup tonight. Nevertheless, a wake up call game. Time to reassess the "they have to catch us to beat us" mantra. Works against teams like the Stars, but not the ones which will matter - Ducks, Bruins, Habs.

Exactly how many board battles were won at either end by the Hawks?
How many Valium does Seabrook take before a game these days? Molasses....
Hit count? Sorry - it does matter.

- Return of the Roar

common theme. big concern for playoff hockey. watching this game I kept thinking how the hawks would fare in a physical 7 game playoff series with the ducks if they don't improve in those two areas (board battles and overall physicality)

again , THEY didnt have Corey Perry , not having Hossa and Sharp is a wash.
- mrpaulish

2 players to one is not a wash...but hawks lost, no excuses.

Hawks played like cra.....p the first ten and the last ten. I thought Kane was solid most of the night but probably ran out of gas at the end. Hawks had enough chances to win but couldn't close the door. I don't understand why Q had Carcillo dress tonight??

So you don't think Bowman realizes what this team needs......since you have a crystal ball can you please tell me what I will owe on my taxes when they are done next week?

The league really needs to look at things. Teams like Anaheim and La with all their steroid-abusers and little talent are just allowed to get away with murder out there. There must have been a thousand holding penalties and int not called today.

Hawks had their little active sticks jabbing all over. Ducks brought active bodies and shoved guys off the puck.

When Pat Foley takes a shot at a Hawk, mentioning Bolland's lack of points is X amount of games, you know that Hawk is not producing.

Oduya had a poor game; and Seabs is either hurt or he's lost his desire. He was nonchalant and bad again.

- KingB

Oduya been outstanding..off tonight...yeah it happens

Now seabs I have no idea but he seems to be in a daze every other gme

How is losing two top-6 forwards (screwing up each of the top two lines) a wash with losing one top-6 forward?

More like the first 30 and last 10. If Carcillo's not hurt, there is no excuse for dressing him tonight. Played the whole game one man short...by choice!

Because one of the two is worthless, unless you put a high value on hitting posts.

Again...if Bowman fails to do anything and the Hawks don't make it out the WC then have at him......more than likely he is trying to make a move but as we've discussed trades are hard to make when so many teams still believe they are in it.....

C'mon - Hossa ain't that bad.

Seriously, rather have Sharp out there with Kane than Hayes.

That's what happens when the moron with the mustache decides to bench a guy after one shift. Carcillo should have never dressed if he wasn't going to play.
- Ogilthorpe2

Couldn't agree more. This game is on Q if you ask me. They're already short-handed, playing without Hossa and Sharp but he compounds this by playing Carcillo for all of three shifts. If you can't trust a guy to play more than three shifts for you, then he shouldn't be dressed. Not sure how Carcillo went from getting a contract extension and playing on the first line to start the season to not being able to play more than three shifts in a game. Kane played over 25 minutes tonight which was way too much. Lo and behold, Kane was on the ice for the last two goals, though not blaming him specifically, but at the end of the game when he was heading of the ice to the locker room the guy look totally exhausted. Players have bad games and so do coaches. Tonight Q had a poor game.

I thought they played solid second part of the first and really controlled the game in the 2nd......I agree on the Carcillo.....makes no sense.

Hawks have now lost two games to the Ducks where they had late 2-1 leads.

I say let them have the conference #1...doesn't matter much.

- ArlingtonRob

that's the tough part...had the lead and KA-BOOOMMM in both!!

Ducks need to win this year....bye Selane...bye Koivu and hello 25% of your cap going to 2 players...have to suit another 21 somehow..good luck Bob Murray!
