Yeah I don't know what happened over there. Hey looked pretty good last season and really crapped the bed this season. Coaching?
- Fooseshark

Tallon was the one who sent Travis Moen packing from Chicago for garbage, btw....

Tallon's plan in Florida never changed...it is to lose so you draft early, where there is a higher chance of the players actually having high skilllevels and upside...no more, no less.

Yep...end of an era...let the new one begin. Hope he doesn't play Judas and sign within the division.

The guys on CSN are saying the two other teams that were interested in him are no longer. Time to hang them up.

The odds are stacked against anything more than a minor-ish move. However, that isn't stopping them from talking bigger deals.

Not surprising...lot of wear and tear on his body after an excellent career.

Getting that top 6 power forward would be great, but when this team is healthy it's not absolutely necessary.

We need a quality 4th line centre that is great on draws, that should be Stan's primary goal. If Stan has the opportunity to make a bigger deal at a fair price then that's a bonus.

The second need would be somebody to help on the PP. This could be a defenseman or a forward so there are some options.

... but if you get someone like Scrivens back who has played decent in front of a not so decent Leafs team the couple of years.

It seems bizarre to think the Hawks and Habs are discussing a post season deal now.

Travis Moen - the guy is paid like 1.8 million for about five more years.

He definitely can take care of business in the Carcillo vein.

But speaking now as an insider, the guy is plain slow, dumb, just wants to be a NHLer and will do anything within his capabilities to continue to do so.

but THIS is an important missing cog?

Believe me, if I am Montreal, I definitely would be trying to get my hooks into Danault.

There are some really nice developing kids that Montreal has, so I would readily be interested in a non-franchophone for a Franchophone trade.

Montreal will always be tied to the game by French speaking players, and I am sure that they would reach for Danault with a better return, if they felt the players were similar, but one wasn't a native French speaker. It just is the way it is.

I WOULD LISTEN.

I know you all like Danault's upside as I do, but I am not talking about being swindled, just getting better somewhere else at another position, type of players.

(Put these Danault thought is the bank with my anme on them...and in 4 years we can see if he is the great all-around utility man I see him as projecting to be, or the scorer/set up man you think he is..

- wiz1901

I havent really watched Danault play at all but I'm wondering if the Hawks are so pleasantly surprised by Andrew Shaw's play that they think they already have Danault playing for them and wearing #65?

If that's the case and Danault is so attractive to the Habs, then players like Eller and maybe Emelin may just be available as soon as Bergevin wants to decide on the whole package?

No Hossa, No Sharp. Mayers, Bollig and Carcillo all in.
Has trouble all over it which means 5-1 Hawks win.

Bozak scores to make it 3-0 Leafs... Tampa is awful. They need to think about a firesale.

EDIT: 4-0 Toronto... Kulemin scored a nice goal... Nonis might like that if he's hoping to deal him.

A huge part of the appeal of Danault for me is that he seems to be a wonder at the dot. If the front office feels the same, Shaw has a long ways to go to replace him.

From what I saw of Danault in Rockford late last season, it doesn't appear to me that he has the similar snarl Shaw brings to the ice.

Snarl may be a plus, but if he's talented enough to be second line center his skill will suffice. Put needed snarl at wing.
