Where would you play Bozak? He isn't a top two centerman in Toronto who are weaker in the middle than we are. - paulr
Bottom 6, maybe bump Shaw back to wing or Kruger to W, or he plays W and takes draws—53%

It goes deeper than that and players on the ice, heard Scotty was there talking to Bergevin to see what it will take to pry Al Cimaglia away from Hawks to head up Canadiens blog. Lots of moving pieces, but Marc likes Al a lot and rumor has it, brokered some real estate too....
I am just kidding around and mean no disrespect to Al, just levity. - TrueGrit
The price for Mellifluous Bloggers is always high, but especially at this year's trade deadline

With Leddy's best years to come...$4 mil/year may be a bargain. While he's found a home in the bottom pair...his confidence and experience are growing exponentially, grooming him nicely for the time when he eventually becomes a legit top 4 guy.
As for how the club feels about the players you mentioned and their agents...dunno...but isn't Leddy's agent Neil Sheehy ? Could be wrong on that...but we all know Sheehy hasn't endeared himself to the Hawks' brass.
As for Stalberg...his speed makes him a unique weapon and one i don't want to lose. He still makes d'zone/neutral zone mistakes with the puck that drive me crazy, but he is a true GAME BREAKER. - philco28
PK Subban kinda set the bar for young defensemen when he signed a 2 year deal with a $2.875 cap hit. $4 mil for Leddy at basically the same age and development point is stretching it, Subban is the better of the 2 players and only a year older. |

Bozak is good on draws and defensively and on the PK, but the Hawks need to improve the #2 center position not the #3. This move doesn't make sense unless it is strictly to improve the faceoff %. |

I'm certain I have only heard a small fraction of the whole story. What I do know is Carcillo has at least tried to do the right things. And there's some other detail that I won't go into that makes me believe it has not been easy for him all the time. - John Jaeckel
Observing Carcillo's demeanor this year...i've been impressed with his dedication to his rehab. The physical part is a real grind for one...but the mental frustration of of seeing progress and having confidence in rebuilt joints is very challenging as well.
Car Bomb has said that overcoming that major knee injury last year was one of the hardest things he's been through in his career. And the setback in Game 1 this season didn't help, i'm sure.
He's a better skater than Bollig and i'd say he's a far better finisher of checks than 52...but his 'on the edge' personality and style may NOW be a net NEGATIVE in the eyes of the folks who rolled the dice on him.

In Carcillo's defense, that was the reason he was signed initially. It sounds like there are mixed messages being sent. The coaches are probably telling him to be himself, while the Front Office says clean it up...or vice versa.
Either that, or they're trying to turn him into a caged animal so when he's on the ice next, he just destroys someone (within the rules, of course) |

Good comparison
The $4 million fig was not mine...just a number that had been put out there. Also, Hammer will be in line for a raise that should be well north of his current $3.5 when his contract expires after next season.
Damn i PHUCKING HATE CAP MANAGEMENT. |

Sounds very plausible E. Car Bomb's gotta be pissed though. Works his butt off to get back and then he's healthy, wearing a suit on game nights.
Not tonight though...Myers just tweeted that CAR BOMB is IN tonight.

Leddy and PK?? - soad_live
Only based on their similarity in age and worth....Subban's a nice player, but he's a legend in his own mind. Glad Bergevin didn't capitulate and overpay for him.

With regards to the mixed messages, it's obvious that this is a trend/theme within this organization. Soupy mentioned it when he left. Brouwer too. The One Goal mantra should apply to everyone in the organization, not just what the marketing department drops and expects us to consume. |
