I don't think he saying there not stars, just that not many get moved per year. I tend to agree with him, All-Stars generally don't get traded.

I like the Sabres too but They have developed a losers mentality in the last 5 years and show no signs of shaking that....

sometimes it takes a long time to pull yourself out of the gutter. i still maintain hope but the fact it's a very tough challenge to do so is not lost on me, I still think they can do it though. i don't blame you for feeling the way you do, they could've kicked this turnaround up a few notches for sure.

but when else has he been in a situation where he needed to trade a big name? campbell was really the only time his hand was pressed and he traded him.

if one of the 3 arent traded by the start of next season (and darcy is still GM) it will be the biggest disaster and embarassment i have ever seen.

What has me more concerned is that with the new alignment coming, the sabres had better change this loser culture they have and in a hurry otherwise they will find themselves outside the playoffs most years.....

what i admire is what boston did. targeting a player they werent going to move forward with and trading him away.

thats the situation the sabres are in now. not trading draft picks for a player.

You dont give up 2 first round picks for a 1 way player that wont have a supporting cast.

Kessel is like Vanek. Goal scorers that arent stand alone stars. They need others around them to do well. Very streaky players.

I could see a 1st round pick for Kessel, but not 2

Tyler Seguin, and Dougie Hamilton look a lot better than Kessel.

and if Seguin turned out to be Radek Bonk or a Grigorenko (too soon lol) id be oh how he fleeced them

Dougie does look good though

Dont forget Burke also made some nice moves with the Ducks
