He was holding the stick. You don't need to use your hand to hold a stick. Believe me, he new what he was doing and go away with a no call.
- adambuffalo

That's a play they are never gonna call in Montreal, they both went down, Leino got up first, stick was under Subban. We were already on the PP, would have been Bush league for them to call it IMO

Only here would he be on the 1st PP unit. I love Ott, but he's 30 and a 3rd liner. He shouldn't be an untouchable
- sbroads24

Who said "untouchable"?

Would I put him on the table, though? No.

If a team was willing to overpay for him, well then, yes, obviously I'd do it.

The Sabres need more players of his ilk, not less.

Drury was 28 when he came to Buffalo. 29 when he became co-captain. Just sayin.
- RynoBull

I know, I personally just think that if this organization comitts to a rebuild, and teams would be willing to over pay for guys like Ott, I would listen. In no way do I want him gone BTW

You do need guys Like Ott I agree. But he's 30. If we are rebuilding I'm listening for offers for anyone.
- sbroads24

I just find it so frustrating we have to use the word IF when we use the word rebuild thanks to our current GM. I hope Regehr is reasonable to deal with if the Sabres get a great offer for him, it's encouraging to hear his name being thrown around as one of the top defenseman at the deadline.

Why not, they have McCarthur, had Connolly, get Roy, maybe we can fool them into taking Gerbe/Hecht somehow ?
- MikeyOz

Just think if they get Roy they'll have two top 20 centers

IN a rebuild id keep leino

not going to trade him for much and will keep you away from the floor

- hubie

I'd much rather buyout Stafford than Leino at this point.

I dont think so. Youd strike fear into every single team and in a 7 games series would wear you down very quickly.

Nashville gets into the playoffs with no scoirng every year......

you know, i was looking at trades for top defensemen (usually the ufa kind) as a baseline for what we could get for regehr. I really think we can get a 1st (maybe a 2nd but i bet first) and a mid to top prospect for robyn if a team feels desperate enough to add him LA/Ana/CHI.

i'm really excited that we might have insane trade assets from this deadline.

also if we have a top 3-4 pick in the draft and a mid 1st or something we could really do some damage in the draft. that doesn't even count if we actually trade one of the big 3 or driftwood like stafford or little people like ennis.

this should be exciting times for us (considering the team is so bad we have to hope for something fun!)

Still think you can get something for staff

leino with injury and no history of prolonged productivity is tough

Ott is exactly what this teams needs more of. To think otherwise is foolish.
- RynoBull

I can live with one Ott on the third line where he belongs. Get rid of keleta, scott, hect..

modano at the end of his career.

He is no chris drury.

I havent seen Ott fight since game 1 or 2 this season. Had the perfect opportunity in the caps game, and he pulled a pat kaleta.

- alexthegr8

So that must mean he sucks.

Give me a break. Everybody whines that this team is too f$@king soft, and we go out and get a guy who hits like there's no tomorrow, wins tons of draws, has a great attitude, chips in offensively and kills penalties and you scoff at that?!?

Love it.....
If we can go week of the draft with say 2 1sts 2 2nds trade around boom 1 in the top 5 1 in the top 15 can get a nice future

They also had a true shutdown top D pair and a top 5 goalie. We have neither of those things.

If Stafford can be traded for something, then that would be preferable for sure.

He has the ability to score 30 and think can snatch you a 2-3 rd pick easily

Darcy could reinvent his legacy and really create something special these next couple months with the possibilities he has.......or he can continue his legacy of failure and sit on these solid trading assets.
