Only here would he be on the 1st PP unit. I love Ott, but he's 30 and a 3rd liner. He shouldn't be an untouchable

This is nothing new. He is a defensive liability.

Colin Jacobbs is gonna play for Rochester. Can you tell me all about him too?

You're wrong. He played with Modano, and that's nothing to sneeze at. To keep up with Modano, you've got to have at least a little something.

Ott is the most complete player on this team. Hits, PK, PP, fights, faceoffs, leadership, great attitude. The perfect teammate and a damn good hockey player.

He played with Modano in his late 30's. He couldn't sniff Modano's jock in his prime.

I disagree with the untouchable part. He is the type of player that this team needs, because there is an overall lack of leadership, which I feel he brings to this squad. The young guys need that type of player on this team and if we all get our wish, we will be dumping a few of the underperforming players that have gotten away from the way Drury, McKee, and (I just puked in my mouth a bid) Briere played....

I'm saying players have NMC so they don't end up being dealt to the Sabres as well as the other dud teams mentioned.

modano at the end of his career.

He is no chris drury.

I havent seen Ott fight since game 1 or 2 this season. Had the perfect opportunity in the caps game, and he pulled a pat kaleta.

Ott is a great 3rd liner for any team. Nothing more than that. You dont throw a C on a player like Ott because of some of the antics he pulls. You name me any other captain that goads players into fights then doesnt drop them, chirps non stop, and takes the occasional dumb penalty.

Comparing him to Drury.... my god thats awful.

he missed - chalk up an assist to the poopty refs!
- atlsabsfan

Refs made a good call for a play happening full speed. It's easy to call any penalty or not watching in slow motion on replay with differant angles. In addition, the totally missed Subban holding the stick on Leino which would have given Buf a 5 on three in the last minute. If we didn't score, we still would have had a minute in ot of 4 on 3.

Ott is exactly what this teams needs more of. To think otherwise is foolish.

You didn't. So I don't what your responding to. This was going back to a coversation yesterday. I agreed with the fact that he's not the best player on this team, that's all.

If telling the truth makes me 'that guy' then I guess that I am. There's a reason we have to give a guy like Ville Leino money that no other team in the NHL would.

Well, if we can find takers, I absolutely see Stafford and leo being shipped out. I dont know what RR will do for the team in terms of leaving since he has some sort of clause that needs to be waived. I dont know if he likes Buffalo or not, or if he would mess with his family situation for a couple of months.

One thing that would be real interesting to know would be what the locker room is like, where there are rifts, if people dont like Miller, or Kaleta, or RR, or whoever. I think rightnow the locker room is divided and someone needs to figure out what needs to happen there, regardless of who it is, and build around those that want to be here, or those that arent a distraction.

Leino tripped Subban. He put his stick in between Subbans legs and pulled a can opener. Subban wasnt "holding his stick" it was literally all mixed up in his body and between his legs and he was laying on it.

well - you have admitted that they missed two calls in that paragraph. My thoughts are that until the refs become more consistent, and until Shanny and his little department is more consistent, this league will continue to be second rate.

He was holding the stick. You don't need to use your hand to hold a stick. Believe me, he new what he was doing and go away with a no call.

Well we need a couple of players over 30 if we are shipping out the big three, Stifford, Leo, RR, and buying out Lieno.

I would rather rebuild around Ott. We dont really have too many blue collar players that (I think) is appreciated in this town.
