Right now we are the 5th worst team in the league....we need top 4 to get one of Jones, Drouin, MacKinnon, or Barkov. It would be nice to get in the top 3 though, I don't like drafting Russians.

Saw him play last Friday, kid is for real. Drouin is electric but tries the same move too much.

Anyone else here think that ANA might be going for it this year and that Iggy would be a good fit? This could be their last year for a bit with Selanne & Koivu before the young guys take over and have to grow a little to support Getz & Perry. They have room to add Iggy +

I could see it...but i'm sure the Flames would like to deal him out east....honestly I think the Habs could be a sleeper for Iggy!

If you're refering to Barkov as a Russian, I think he only has a Russian parent(s). I believe he is Swedish. He plays in the Sweidish league and I'm pretty sure he played with team Sweden in the WJC. He is kind of like Galchenyuk that way.

Nichushkin I think is the top Russian player this year and has been ranked anywhere from 2nd to 7th. The Lightning may take him, they're ok with Russians.

Nice thought but I just dont see Anaheim giving up that much of their youth for a rental. With the humongous contracts to Getz & Perry, they need these guys on ELC's to balance the cap. You have to think the best location will be where a team Iggy wants to go to & has the ability to resign. Otherwise the price for someone willing to pay is much lower.
I think the decision to trade Iggy is already done, there is no contract talks happening & even Edwards & King know they will have to overpay to keep him if they are bidding for his services come July 1. I think Iggy has already told them the kind of new contract he is looking for to stay in Calgary & these guys just gulped.

Maybe Stajan for KAssian. They want a C. Staj would fit well on the 3rd line when Kessler returns. At least it would give us some size and some bloody grit; could pair well with Baertschi next year and for the future. But I agree, Tangs and Backs is a no go for the Flames. The guy is a meat bag.

For stretches of time last night, I thought Iginla looked like a world beater. I don't think I've ever seen him stick handle through people like that.

Unfortunately, he seemed to be pretty much alone in that intensity.

Stajan looked ok, Cammy seemed to be playing with a bit of a chip on his shoulder... but pretty much everyone else looked disinterested.

Latest ISS rankings actually have Nichushkin at #2 ahead of Drouin and McKinnon. I think they had Darnell Nurse at 5, Monahan at 6, Barkov at 7. Lots of good picks in the top 10 this year.
