Interesting poll from http://www.philly.com/phi...id=198626891&cid=8500281]

What is the biggest reason the Flyers have struggled this year?

Peter Laviolette has worn out his welcome. 339 (16.6%)
Claude Giroux has not been an offensive star. 560 (27.4%)
Ilya Bryzgalov remains too inconsistent. 400 (19.6%)
Too many key injuries in a condensed season. 745 (36.4%)

Total votes = 2044

Surprising that fans are pinning the season on G to some degree. I figured Lavi and Bryz would get the largest portion of blame from the fans. G has had some down stretches this season, for sure, but everyone across the board (exceot Jake and Rinaldo) are having trouble this year. Hard to say whether G is a cause or symptom of the greater issue. I voted injury but strongly considered the Lavi option before hitting "Submit".

He's been fantastic and is a credit to the fanbase. I love good trolls that are funny. If you're going to troll at least be humorous or make a good point.

PK Subban is a 3-4 defenseman? Holy moly.

Meh too one dimensional he is. Remember mike greens offensive season? How is he now?

I know everyone is clamoring for us to draft a dman with our top pick but I'd rather see us pick drouin or mackinnon then trade schenn/couts for the d we need. Asuming we get a top 4 or 5 pick.
- twotoekenn

So draft two more forwards while keeping those that we have? Sorry am I missing something? Just curious

I don't understand what the point of moving Talbot would be. Guy is 29, has a more than reasonable cap hit, and is a solid team guy. On another note, if Hartnell keeps this up, could he be a buyout candidate?
- Jimmygrazz

Honestly, because he's a 3rd/4th line guy that can be replaced by somebody cheaper.

My preference if to keep him. But if somebody comes along and offers a couple of 2nd rounders for him...

Its very strange for me watching this team. When they play pitt at least theyre up for the game. Play nasty, fast, back and forth hockey. Sure there is still no D to be seen anywhere but on O they look deadly against us. Watched a couple of philly games in the last week or two against random teams and all I can say is wow. It doesnt look like the same team out there at all. Maybe they should make every team wear pens jerseys against them, couldnt hurt at this point

Pretty hard to render the last 18 games in a 48 game schedule irrelevant. This brain dead group of underachievers have managed to do it.

Good job, good effort.

Is he actually a Pens fan or just a troll? He never, ever posts in the Pens thread, but he always posts in the Leafs/Habs thread. Me thinks he has you fooled.
- canadianpenfan

I'm not sure he has anybody fooled. Wouldn't it be funny if he turned out to also be one of the roaming Flyers trolls though, like a KilladelphiaFlyers?

I agree. Their chances of getting a top 5 pick are pretty good. Knowing this team though, they'll go on a run and get the 13th overall pick.
- NickTheKid87

the only run this team is going on is down a flight of stairs into the basement where they belong. the switch they've flipped on and off over the last few years has blown at the breaker box.

WTF? Too one dimensional he is? Are you Yoda?

Green has dealt with a series of injuries that have limited him, greatly. Also Subban is better defensively than Green ever was.

Dude, you really need to stop and listen to what #87 and #71 R Hockey has to say.

He brings a certain 16 year old, homoerotic fanboy worship perspective that is sorely needed around here.

The Penguins are dreamy. So is One Direction, but that's a whole 'nother story.

His team won a cup this decade. Yours hasn't. Part of the Penguins' success is directly attributable to his mom buying him a Pens jersey at Walmart.

He's better than you.

He's better than all of us.

This is the year those NMC's that Homer thought had to be in every contract really hurt us....Its nice that every trade of a veteran has to be ok'ed by the player...Also I dont want to fire Lavy....He wasnt the one who put this team together Homer did....I write this travesty off as a mulligan....Lavy has no practice time to teach a young group of forwards and an obviously slow defense...sorry cant blame coach for this....not entirely at least

I see no reason to pull a trigger on that. You need to give everyone another year EXCEPT Briere.
