Bouwmesster's cap hit becomes affordable in the offseason once Briere is gone, and it's only for 13-14. Then they could sign him to a long term deal at a lower annual cap hit.

But I would hate to lose Read.

- Feanor

I hated losing JVR but I don't think there is any denying Luke Schenn has helped this blueline.

would you be so kind as to provide a link or cite the source plz, it is in the COC.
- JoeRussomanno

I was looking through the COC and rules 2-7 are usually pretty well disregarded.

Honestly, I'd be hesitant to trade much more than Read and 3rd anyhow, even if they assumed the full cap hit allowable(50%)

I just read a Matt Read to Calgary rumour, plus extras and involving j-Bo. I'm a big Matt Read fan but i would be interested in a deal such as this.
- Flyer4Life29

Only way I make that deal is if Im pretty sure another one would be in place soon.

J Bo for Read, 3rd, prospect

Coburn for a 1st.

Coburn would be expendable.

of

read + mez
or
read+coburn?

- Philly1980

The Calgary GM will drive him here himself for that

Everyone is in love with Andrej Sustr.
- NickTheKid87

No, I prefer Dekeyser. Both would be solid additions.

I feel like you could just trade Coburn and a 3rd for a puck mover of J-Bo equivalence and skip the Read part.

I would inquire about players like David Rundblad and/or shop Coburn. I'd keep Hartnell unless the right deal presented itself. I don't think he nets a good dman alone.

So we're back to trading our young talent for Bouwmeester.

Great. I'm out.

true but I really would like to see the source. If we don't follow that rule this place could get crazy.

Matt Read will be 27 in 3 months. Jay Bouwmeester is 29. HUGE age gap there

I'm confused how the Coyotes not scoring is related to their blueline depth, especially when one of those games was a 1-0 shootout loss.

we have enough young guys on this team .. both Iginla and Morrow are ageless.

Some other ageless players at the top of their game now.. Saku Koivu will be 39, Martin St Louis will be 38.. Pavel Datsyuk will be 35. Hossa 35. Marleau 34 ..The Sedins will be 33. .. .. etc etc etc

- MrBigglesworth

funny how some teams have ageless players and the flyers have aging players

Read's a young 27 and Bouwmeester's and old 29.

That's actually not 100% false. Less time in the NHL = less of a beating on the body.

Oh, that's right. You don't read everything so you didn't see the Schenn and Couturier inclusions.
