Fair points. I'm a huge Stalberg guy not many guys I'd trade him for and I'd really want to sign him so I hope they don't trade him, but not as much as I hope they win the cup - rollpards19
.....And so you know the only reason I said he might go is....
If it was a perfect deal is because Bowman may know already from Stalberg's agent that he will likely test free agency unless he gets a huge raise.
An unsigned Stalberg down't have a great deal of trade value.

That was maybe the most impressive thing about last night's Hawk game... it's about time the Hawks close out a game that strong. The Av's didn't even have a shot until about the mid-point of the third. It was a beautiful thing. - Ogilthorpe2

Never that I can recall.
Don't forget Buffalo could be the target....That's why most of those scouts are there. - Al
Certainly not forgotten... I just wanted my hunch about 1st place teams confirmed.
Buffalo is a complete disaster and most of that roster should be up for grabs. In particular, they should be desperate to move Miller ASAP. Between his incessant loud mouth and disappointing on ice play, he absolutely has to go before Buffalo can turn the corner and get better. |

Sigh. - Ogilthorpe2
Not so much because of the NTC but more because he is hurt. NTC's are mainly for a player to control is own destiny. Asking a player to waive a no trade to go to Phoenix or Calgary is different than asking if will waive it for Pittsburgh or NY. |

I read the quotes from him the other night....and the back story. Didn't seem that big a deal. |

He's starting to shoot his mouth off too much, I would be surprise if he isn't dealt.....But it will likely be at the Draft or in the summer.
He is a big piece to move, now is not the time to get the most value.
Maybe after they buyout a couple of players a team like Philly could figure a way to fit him in....Or some other big market team that will spend, but now it is more difficult.
I've never been a big fan.... |

That was just the latest instance of Miller opening his mouth.
He yaps to the press a lot and for a guy who has done nothing but disappoint for 2 seasons now, it comes off pretty bad. |

Bolland for Pacioretty.......my hope.
Move Sharp to 2c and Kane and Patches on the wings....yahtzee! - UnnamedSource
I would do it, but I can't see the Habs rading Max. Would love it, though. I can see Eller being dealt. Maybe they cn add a guy like Armstrong. Only problem with Armstrong is all his injuries. When healthy he would be a great 4th liner |

Despite the connections between the Hawks and Habs, my guess is the Sabres are the focus here. |

Trading Bolland just before making a run at the cup is a horrible idea on many levels.

Agreed Al...
I'm looking forward to the next draft since it could get very interesting with all the cap issues and teams needing to purge.
The next several years should be similar until the talent market settles down with cap stability and predictability. |

The draft is must see tv this year....deep in talent and lots of trades and it's only one day. |

Bowman is not trading anybody on this roster currently. How the hell can you mess with the chemistry and how the current pieces fit. You can't be concerned with this summer and cap ramifications for next year. That is why I doubt you will see any GM making a big splash at the deadline...need to be careful with respect to what salarys these guys take on. You only have maybe 2 or 3 team that are considered out of it. Aves look dead...but they might not think so. Flames should be sellers but who knows what their genious GM wants to do as his team needed an overhaul 2 years ago! |

Kane too. A lot of haters have been converted, but he's probably still just one DeadSpin article away from the being back on everyone's chopping block. |

Thank you. As much as I enjoy reading these conversations, all of this Hoss buyout talk depresses me. He needs to stay, help the Hawks win at least a couple more Cups, and I want very much to see him score his 500th goal in a Blackhawk uniform.
Because of his obvious hockey smarts and approach to the game, he will continue to be a world-class grinder even as his scoring prowess inevitably diminishes somewhat with age... |

I don't know dude, you always hear about players winning or getting to a Stanley Cup final early in their career and then they just expect to get back every year then all of a sudden 10 years goes by and that objective is never achieved.
Maybe Kaner knows or realizes how hard it is to win the Cup and that the Hawks are in the window to win right now and he looks obsessed with winning every night , his back checking has been better that ever and every night he does something genius on offense.
I think he has grown up and we won't be seeing him on deadspin anytime soon. |
