This trade deadline is going to be quiet. Too many GMs are going to feel like they still can get to the dance. Hell, even Columbus might be buyers now.

I like watching Flyer games, which they also show a lot. But I am also sick of Pitt, Bos, Wash, and the Rangers

Agreed...buy my guess is that it's unlikely SB will take on a substantial contract, pending UFA's only.

Next years cap drop cannot be ignored...it's the elephant in the room come the trade deadline.

It's a bit of a curse...NBC sports channel seems to target the east coast viewer, at least during the work week. At least weekends are better for western conference games.

NHL network is better this year than last, but I wish we (chicago) got the late CBC HNIC broadcast regularly (like every week).

But my math says the total cap savings (vs. actual salary) was: $7.9 million minus $5.275 million for each of five years, or a total of $13.375 million.

Or am I wrong?

Watch next year when realignment takes place the Blackhawks will be on nationally quite a bit. They're probably the only team in the new WC that is a national draw.......maybe the Kings as well. The NHL will use them to develop a national interest in other teams like the Blues, Ducks, and Wild. Don't be surprised if there are two Winter Classics next year....during the day.....Toronto vs Detroit and at night.......Kings Vs Hawks in the LA Coliseum or Dodger Stadium........don't laugh.....

He has been really good since coming out of the doghouse. I can't see them getting rid of one of their top 9 without getting a roster player back. There were rumors of eller for Stalberg or Bickell. I don't know if I want to trade them now. That 3rd line has been the most consistent

Just got a lot of info. on what the Hawks are up to. Rumor blog coming in the next few days. Names have been mentioned here in the past. Both of the main targets would fill big needs and really help this team.

There could be a bigger deal with Montreal. Eller could be the piece coming back or part of the return, with a bigger Hawk name going to Montreal.
