What I am seeing from the Hawks is chemistry amongst the guys who have played together for 4-5 years in Chicago
They instinctively know where to go and how to quickly find the open man
Seabs goal a prime example
This is what you get from guys who have played together for 5 years and its's not something you will see from Saad or new faces
It just takes time
A lot of unselfish role players on the 3 rd and 4 th lines who are not worried about their own stats .....just willing to do whatever it takes to win
It's a great recipe for winning - PEIHawkFan
They just need the unselfishness to transend to the Cap and things will be ok for a bit.

When things slow down I am going to reach out and try to find out defintely about retirement implications.
This is taken from a CAP Geek article and if correct the Hawks can wait until next year to make a decision.
BUYOUTS
During the ordinary course buyout periods in June 2013 and June 2014, teams will be permitted two compliance buyouts. Compliance buyouts follow the same formula as ordinary-course buyouts but do not count against the cap
This goes hand in hand with what was implied on the NHL Network yesterday as well....

Oh! I see. Because Krugman actually shares 4 out of the 7 letters of Krueger's name and ends with "man".... Clever.
Was Freddy taken?
That said. I know there is a lot of man love here for Krueger but I can't see him ever being a shut down player like Bolland. If he could be packaged for the right player I would move him. What you get for that salary though is an outstanding return and that is going to become a necessity in the coming cap era of 3-5 players per team taking half the cap space or more.[/img] |

Actually there is no E in Kruger.....and "Freddy" is kinda worn out.
The fact that Kruger is only 22 and already a shut down player on the PK makes me and others think is upside his greater than Bollands ever was....... |

Why would you move a guy who is 22, minimal salary, great passer, great defensively, disciplined, and gives a maximum effort every time he is out there.....they do call him
baby Toews for a reason.....Even if you double his salary for 1.8 million for the next 3-5 years after this season you would have one of the best bargains in the league. |

Good points. I see the effort and he has the upside but I don't see any parallel with Toews or even Bolland. Krueger may get there but he is not Bolland. Just saying he should not be untouchable.
He looks more like a Sammy Pahlsson type... Really needs to improve his draws. |

Could stand to see a little more Freddy in his game. That would make him more like Bolland. |

I think draws are his only negative. Some people think he may end up at wing some day which is quite possible. The parallel with Toews is he never takes a shift off and give 100% effort. He is a guy you want on a team and I could see him as a Hawk for the next several years. I think he is lot better along the boards than people give him credit for. He is not an antagonizer like Bolland but if he, Danualt, & Shaw fulfill their potential the future looks good. |

Wonder who they're looking at? I agree with JJ that Scotty attending a game means something more than just a pro scout being here.
Ott is the obvious choice - tough as nails (125 hits so far), great on faceoffs (58.6%) and lots of experience. Contract isn't great but there's only 1 more year at $2.95 million.
Hecht? Not really impressive but he would add some depth at centre. |
