I'd hesitate to consider trading Nino until he's had another year or two and we have a better idea of what kind of player he'll be. Okposo's lack of balance, lack of physical play and lack of production for long stretches has been more than enough for me to give up on him. If he was just unlucky I'd hold onto him, but his skating has not improved, his balance is laughable as he goes down multiple times per shift and he's not showing improvement. I'm good to pass on him at this point.

Players can make great strides when they focus on improving different aspects of their game, and Kyle could be great if he'd work on his balance, but because he's shown a fondness for not bothering to do anything, I'm done with him.

For any deal for Nino I would need it to be for a big piece on D. I'd like to get a look at Nino before dealing him but never say never. KO I'm fine with moving at this point. I do not see KO working on his game at all and I think it's time to move on.

i wouldn't be shopping nino but if the right trade to put us over the top had to include him i would do it.

please take this at face value..its just a RUMOR that i have heard from a reliable source (not ecklund) but apperently the bolts have gone to St. Louis and asked him if he would be willingly open to a trade and he said yes. He gave them a list of teams he would prefer to go to and the islanders are on it. I know he lives in greenwich and is very close with Moulson. once again..this is just something i heard from someone who is usually relaible and by no means is this anything that could happen.. just a talking point on a rainy afternoon.

I'm not sure what is harder to believe St. Louis allowing a trade to the Isles or the Isles brining in his salary?

well, its been the same core for about four years now. A few new parts here and there, but the same core of guys over the past four years or so haven't been consistent at all. So if you're wondering why people are skeptical as to whether this team can be consistent enough to make the playoffs, its based on the track record of not only the 12-13 team, but correctly so on the track record of the core of the 12-13 team that has been together for a few years now and not gotten the job done.
- Jethro09

right but the core is young...they need time to grow and mature and learn the game and catch up to the speed necessary to compete.

I did a little twitter browsing to see if there was anything about St. Louis. One article surmises that he may be traded and if so it would be the Rangers that would be the most likely destination
One thing about Marty, if he got dealt, I'd think he'd want to go to a contender since at 37 years old, he probably wants one last shot at the cup. I'm not sure the isles would make that list.

Ok how do the Rangers fit these high salary guys under the Cap? I also would be surprised he would want to go to the Isles. At 37 I would be careful in giving up a lot of St. Louis anyway.

Well, I wouldn't say anything I read was substantial enough to blow anything out of the water. I also wasn't aware that Marty is friends with Moulson so that's news to me as well. I'm not so sure the Isles would take that contract on though.
