This is Prime minister Harris, we don`t need this crap while i`m in power and the PQ rule Quebecois! I understand Mr. Harris, I will insure the officials keep the Canadians organization happy to insure even a liberal victory in the next election.

I can understand the reasoning the NHL does this. Bettman needs a physically inferior Canadian team in the playoffs against an American franchise. Higher television ratings and more revenue generated having an American team destroy and humiliate a Canadian one. So a team like the Habs is the perfect patsy.

Why would they need a canadian team in the playoffs? For the past 10 years, or whatever it is, no matter who was playing (not the Laffs) CBC and even TSN have been obsessed with that piece of poop franchise called the Leafs.
