It would make me think for another reason - you would be in bigger cap problems with those two, especially when Pieterangelo asks for 6.5 since he is a RFA after this year. You, on the other hand, don't think at all. Having those three would put Pittsburgh in a major problem cap wise. - Oneonta Penguin
It's idiotic to trade or even think about trading Malkin. You'll spend more for Pietrangelo and Backes and won't get the same results. Btw, it's PIETRANGELO. |

Haha, Buffalo doesnt have anything to trade that will net them a proven superstar. - Gunner Staal
Who do you see them selling off in 2 weeks? Miller perhaps? His comments about Kaleta, while very true, speak of a very fed up player in a disaster of a situation. |

I honestly have no idea. Regier is a buffoon and has to "win" every trade he is in. Talk about a guy that has been a part of his core and forget about it, he'll overvalue his "assets" like you wouldn't believe. |

seriously??? pietrangelo is probably one of the top 3 d-men in the entire league, and backes is one of the best power forwards in the entire leauge.
obviously neither is better than malkin, but considering the pens would NEVER get fair value for him in a deal......that package is as good as you could ever expect to get. - sensarmy_11
Yea but we dont NEED to trade geno soo... |

And you wanted them to add Oshie to the mix, so ... does that mean Pittsburgh spends even more?

So, 9 game win streak... - AncasterPens
Where do you think it will end. I was looking the schedule over and my guess is it gets to 22 games. |

Miller needs a change of scenery. I could see Detroit in the offseason when Howard bolts.
Regher needs to be dealt for a second and a minor prospect. Leopold needs to be dealt.
Stafford to Edmonton, Winnipeg or Minnesota for a first.

Spend a bit more but with "better" results. Anyway, dumb thought. You don't trade Malkin and if you do you HAVE to maximize the return. Got it?You don't trade one of the "two-headed-monsters" |

Things seem to be getting heated around here. Maybe we should change the subject. How about something no one seems to have brought up in a while. Let's say trading for Iginla. |

so the 2nd or 3rd best d-man in the league, a guy who's a top line forward on almost any team in the league, and another topsix forward isnt' "maximizing your return".
what the hell do you expect to get for him?
maybe you should ask the oilers for RNH, Eberle, hall, yak, and schultz.......or is that still not enough? |
