Take a look at his even strength points from last year, though: he had 41 - one less than Eric Staal and Joe Pavelski.
He's not as bad as some of you haterzzzz are making him out to be.
Although this year, yeah, he's struggling. - Atomic Wedgie
Eric Staal had a brutal season last year, the worst of his career, so I wouldn't compare the two seasons at all. Last year might be one of Grabos BEST years ever. |

Why is everyone female doging about grabovski, and not our defense.. or our goaltending? - A_Tree
Dozzer and Leafman run a pretty tight ship - the schedule says Tuesday from noon 'til two we focus on Grabbo.
Two 'til four pm we will look at how guys in suits in the lower bowl are responsible for the Cup drought.
Four 'til five we will agonize over the Rask for Raycroft trade.
It's the repetition that unites us all. |

Funny thing about all this arguing, I don't even dislike Grabovski. When he plays hard, he's a solid player. He has no play-making abilities though, gives the puck away quite a bit and isn't great defensively (no matter what your defensive zone FO stats try to tell you). That combined with the fact that's getting 5.25mil per year, makes me not like him just a little more. If it was a 4mil over 4 year contract, I would have been OK with it, but the over-payment really bugged me and still does. |

lol i knew youd chime in eventually
and at least your just here to poke, but all im saying here is that grabo as a 2nd line center with kulemin and mcarthur put up similar points to #1 Centers in the last 2 seasons, and then this year hes in a d role and his points are less than last couple years and its , trade trade trade, dump him!
i swear, leaf fans, so (frank)ing dumb. - big_dion

We overpaid for him, because we didn't have an alternative.
Time to move on (and hope he finds his game). |

The goaltending hasn't been great lately, but the defense in long-stretches has been downright terrible. |

Not just Burke. Any GM in Toronto.
We have to give out big contracts to have guys stay here, or come play here.
We have no other bargaining chip, so we'll just throw more money at them. |

I like him as well, just not at 5.5 or whatever it is.
With Carlyle as coach, last season and this one, I think Grab. is on a 33 point season pace over 82 games.
I just think we can get someone for 2.5-3.5 to do the same work

I don't like the idea of over-paying for a guy just because there weren't great options next in line. Ah well, I guess all we can hope for is that he starts playing better, at least until the off-season when Toronto has more options for him. |

In all respect, we signed grabo because we were in trouble up the middle. We had no clue kadri would of been this good, nor that bozak would become God at taking faceoffs. And since Grabo was our best center scoring 25+ goals averaging 50+pts its kind of hard to let him go for nothing. The best option Burke had was to trade him while his value was high. And that goes for alot of players we have. If Burke traded guys like kulemin, macarthur when their value was at its highest, we would of got really good returns. Which makes me mad because i wanted them gone when they were at their highest value |
