the leafs should have nothing to do with any of those guys
they arent what the leafs need.. and it will turn into another connolly fiasco
just resign bozak or, if he costs too much, promote from within. colborne has been basically at a PPG since his injury finally healed 100% back in January and with Kadri and Grabo here.. the C position is easily fillable without having to burden themselves with a big dumb contract - Dozzer
I think Weiss would be a good fit in Toronto.
Weiss
Kadri
Bozak/Colborne
McClement.
Down the middle.
Not too shabby.
But I think we should look at top 4 defenders over a center, personally.
This makes me cringe.... We tried the "whats left" option and got Connolly.
I would rather Aim for a Young Center who has a lot more left. Duchene or prospect like Strome etc.. keeping in mind neither is available..but why try for older stop gaps again. This team is still a huge WIP..a 33 year old Ribero will just keep the mediocrity going, and cost too much imo - senstroll

Which is hilarious. - jbold

They've already burdened themselves with a big dumb contract in Grabovski. If all things were equal, i'd take Ribeiro over Grabo in a second, but you are right I don't think we need two 5+mil lazy Centre's.

Then don't read it? I don't post things on here hoping you agree with them.

NOW THAT is funny.
This never happened, but okay
But if you want to talk about flirting with refs, you're the right person to talk to.
He's a 29 year old 50 point centermen at best, who is on the decline, and is coming out of his prime.
He also makes the most money out of our forward group.
I would trade him in a heartbeat for an actual shutdown center. Like Bolland. - jbold
I completely agree with this. It's not just this year, it's the fact that he got a fat contract from the Leafs that he never deserved. He's never scored more than 29 goals in a season, never had a 60 point season, he's not great defensively, he dissapears for long stretches of time....yet he's worth 5.25 over 5 years? Give me a break. Hated the deal since the beginning.

and who would take on the role of shutdown centre?
ribeiro?
guys think.. please.. there is alot more to the game of hockey that scoring.. grabo is in his first season where he is molding himself into a more complete player.. be patient. it will pay off --- you know.. like it does for every other team in the league.
you guys have a hard time cutting anyone slack.. its either play perfect or you are a bum.

5.25mil for a shut-down Centreman? That's not how you win in the NHL, sorry.

Actually, he has a cap hit of 5.5. Which sucks even more.
And I agree. He never deserved the contract.
But I understand why they gave it to him.
Just wish we could of spent that money on someone better.
