id say leafs are exactly where they should be right now, but have lupul, frattin and possibly gardiner coming up in the near future, both goalies are healthy and playing decent.

overall, leafs are in a decent spot just had a rough patch of the schedule.

as long as we win a couple more than we lose from here in - id imagine we make it.

either way, leafs have improved this year.

carlyle makes some weird/bad decisions sometimes, i just hope they dont come back to haunt us (ala. not making playoffs by 1 point because he didnt put grabo in for shootout).

but hes still a landslide better than Wilson.

Under the old format the Leafs would be 4 pts. up on the 9th place team instead of just 2.

The OT/shootout format has not helped them at all

I think those two games will go a long way in showing whether this team has the will to make the playoffs. Good teams bury their opponent in those situations, mediocre teams struggle.

To me they shouldn't just win those games but win them decisively for me to regain any kind of confidence in this team.

Based on recent History it is not a stretch at all.
The leafs have a better track record of missing the playoff than making them. Even though they were in a very similar spot last season.
