Well to be fair, he sent Mac out and Mac is now 0 for 10 in shootouts.
That line needs to produce more, and if not, then they have to stop playing on the PP. Im fine with Bozak Kessel JVR and Kadri Frattin Lupul. - systemtool
true, though Mac's been scoring lately, so hotter hand I suppose.

I'm heading down to Barfalo on Thursday for the game. Is it "inappropriate" if I make a sign that says.

I recall a couple years ago when Dion flipped about someone changing the song that was playing on the iDock or something. What does that say?
I'm a sensitive female dog.
It creates a foul atmosphere where the word 'team' loses it's meaning. The 'captain' is a giant sketch bag idiot who loves Justin Bieber. Nothing like listening to love songs before a game, right? Get the blood flowing and everything. - optimus-reim
When I go through problems with Dion as captain, its usually a toss-up betwen this and the fact that he's not Zdeno Chara |

i don't get that either. everyone keeps saying that it's because he's close to having to clear waivers and there's a logjam at defence in Toronto. but A) isn't that logjam full of crappy players like Komisarek, Liles and Holzer? B) what is the worry about Gardiner having to clear waivers? why would he be sent back down? soemthing stinks about the whole situation revolving Gardiner and i hope, for the Leafs' sake, this isn't a Carlyle-Gardiner issue... - scotch_tape
I'm sure they know what they're doing...they do get paid big bucks..not sure if you watched Gardiner last year...but he is soft and hangs on to the puck a little long from what I noticed last year...and at 6ft 2 180lbs...not really the size of a NHL defenseman...of course he did have some great games last year ( before everybody jumps on top of me..unless your a hot lady I don't mind ) but I think Gardiner is no where near a RC type player...or he isn't there yet...that would be my educated guess...glad to be back from the old hab 1 day ban...says I changed somebody elses post?????????????????? wtf didnt know I could do that!!!! |

Regardless of whether or not hes a RC type player, the kid has a ton of talent and upside and needs to be playing. We cant have him buried in the minors because he doesn't put guys through the boards. Something needs to change, and soon, whether its a trade or bringing him up. |

Agreed, if they can play Holzer this long, there is no excuse! |

Maybe - last year he played 75 games and the leafs got the 5th pick overall
So he might have some talent - he's no Bobby Orr - I would like to see him brought up and if Liles or Kostka can't get the job done he will get a try I believe -

2 different types of defenceman - not sure why Holzer is still in the lineup but I thought when Kostka's play slumped they might bring him up - I'm pretty sure his agent ( captain twit-ter ) didn't help his cause - no player is bigger than the leafs and he could be possibly traded out before he plays another game for the leafs |

My thinking too, It would seem they signed Holzer to this contract to make him appealing to suitors however, management didn`t foresee his play deteriorate as it has and they are still hoping it turns around. |

Agreed, different types of defenders but at this point I think Gardiner might even be capable of playing a more sound defensive game |

As fraser and franson play a good game of hockey when paired together, id think the same would go with gardiner and kostka playing together as well.
Phaneuf is a different story. His pairing of gunner or holzer is a toss up, komi is once again retired and i really believe the leafs are showboating liles to trade him at the deadline as of now.
We all know burke likes his proper players on the right sides, what does everyone think of blackers game? Gunner can easily become expendable as well. Is blacker better than holzer on the right side of defense? Should blacker be given a chance? |

Kostka and Gardiner I think play similar - that's why we are waiting for Kostka and Liles to totally fail and then we bring up Gardiner to see if can help - if he doesn't get traded |
