right, meaning he'll get paid more than Connolly... and he's 33.
- Big_Lightnin

well if i could trade Grabo for him, i'd do it.
but i wouldn't resign him for any more than 4 and a half

I'm going to play Eklund here and make some bold predictions. !. gardnier will be up on the leafs by or just after tradedeadline. Grabovski is going to be moved to the hawks for a prospect or two and or picks " mark macneil" Bozak will be resigned but hopefully no more than 3mill. Leafs will pick up mike riberio maybe for mac arthur. Grabs is not liked by caryle. Bozak would be a good signing if its under 3mill. I have been posting for weeks riberio would be a great pickup for the leafs and they should go after him. He's the best of whats available. And i have no idea what toronto and montreal would trade or want from each other. I read a couple of yrs ago that chicago has always had interest in grabs.
- aziffles

well, Stastny is probably the best available

One of my least liked players in the league. Over paid and over rated. I honestly wouldn't trade Komi for him straight up. (Cap reasons)

PPG player making $5M now... good luck getting him to take a pay cut.

He makes the Leafs better, no question. Just isn't the move I want to see.

Carlyle dislikes Grabo so much he keeps putting him out against the other teams best players. Intentionally driving up his +/- to a big negative so Nonis will buy him out.

That Carlyle... he's a sly one... plays the long game.

Ran into Steve Simmons today while grabbing a slice at lunch...I so badly wanted to spit in his food and punch him in the face..but instead I just daydreamed about doing it and ate my pizza......he even eats like a little female dog too, cutting his slice with a fork and knife!

Probably pee's sitting down too......

Its more of a lack of better options at this point. His absence from the shoot out doesn't actually come across as an endorsement. Especially when you start throwing Phaneuf and Franson out before him. Though you do make a good point. Hes used him alot, and has his line out for the 2nd PP unit.

@markhmasters: Carlyle says Grabovski would've been next if shootout when to 11th round; says his poor career mark (3 for 12) played role in snub

for sure he'd like more production from them though.

Well to be fair, he sent Mac out and Mac is now 0 for 10 in shootouts.

That line needs to produce more, and if not, then they have to stop playing on the PP. Im fine with Bozak Kessel JVR and Kadri Frattin Lupul.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Phaneuf, has anyone actually considered what would come next if we were to lose him?

Yeah, the arguments about how good he is have gone back and forth for ages around here, but what's the plan without him?

That's the one question I'd like to see his detractors address. I've come to realize there's no facts or silver bullets that you can come up with to change the haters' minds at this point. It's all fine and well to rip on him night after night, but you'd better propose a better solution eventually.

Is there one player on this team to whom you would feel comfortable giving 22 difficult minutes per night, every night? Is there anyone who could handle anything even close to 27-28?
