U want one to put you over the top? Here's a good one (statistically true).

The Habs have the best PP/PK ratio in the NHL ....by quite a bit too. Hmmmm

Be sure to post that in a response to Howard.

Why not
- AdamFrench

6,680,000 reasons.

I'm gonna be honest. I thought it was more.

Nonetheless, he's expensive, would be costly to acquire, and the Leafs need to re-sign guys and find a way to improve the center group with what money they have.

I think he's a good defenseman, and that he'd be a good partner to Phaneuf... but I don't know if it's worth the price.

if he plays at all well with Kessel or whomever, they have to resign him. Leafs are too thin up middle not to. And that would be MINIMUM a Connolly contract, probably more money, but 2 yrs for sure.

and I'm also not a fan, I'll admit, so there's that.

- Big_Lightnin

Hell I'd rather have Connolly next to Kessel. Bozak blow.

So based on McClement's body language that you see maybe a handful of times throughout a game (if on watching on TV), you believe this 3rd liner should be captain.

I like McClement, he's played well.....not sure I would make him a captain just yet....after 20 games.

- Fakepartofme

Lupul should be captain. Period. No one else has the experience or the leadership abilities that he has.

Ran into Steve Simmons today while grabbing a slice at lunch...I so badly wanted to spit in his food and punch him in the face..but instead I just daydreamed about doing it and ate my pizza......he even eats like a little female dog too, cutting his slice with a fork and knife!

Probably pee's sitting down too......

To all those ragging on Kulemin and Grabovski...

Please take a look at the quality of competition they are playing against as well as their offensive zone start % (which records which end of the ice a player starts their shift).

Check out this chart below:

http://somekindofninja.co...te-filters=Update+Results

If you're in the top left of this chart, that means you play against the other team's best competition (top) and play mostly in your defensive end (left).

With regards to Kulemin and Grabovski:

- they play the hardest competition by a huge margin
- they only see ~35% of their shifts start in the offensive zone

They're clearly being used in a checking role. It's no wonder they're not scoring. Kadri's line has been playing the role of a second line scoring line.

- panek

Now you can do the same for the defense:

http://somekindofninja.co...te-filters=Update+Results

You'll notice that everyone's whipping boy Korbinian Holzer plays a) against the hardest competition and b) gets mostly defensive shifts. Whereas someone like Mark Fraser plays a) against the easiest competition and b) gets a high percentage of offensive zone shifts.

See now how +/- can be misleading?

It's no wonder that Holzer seems to be performing so poorly. He goes against the likes of Crosby every shift. I'm not defending him as he's clearly miscast, just something to think about.

Is that a line proposal? Blow is Kadri's new nickname?

So you want a guy who is severely inconsistent and bone headed being the front of the team? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, wouldn't want unnecessary distractions while we're in a four game slump.
- optimus-reim

you don't want to see this team without Phaneuf right now.

love if they could trade him and upgrade - but they can't.

Eklunds new blog says the Flames and Stars will be "scout central".

Throws out names like Boumeester and Daley.

I recall a couple years ago when Dion flipped about someone changing the song that was playing on the iDock or something. What does that say?
I'm a sensitive female dog.
It creates a foul atmosphere where the word 'team' loses it's meaning. The 'captain' is a giant sketch bag idiot who loves Justin Bieber. Nothing like listening to love songs before a game, right? Get the blood flowing and everything.

- optimus-reim

no, actually, he walked in and changed the music - literally took over the room. He's the most dominant personality in the locker room (according to Wilson and Burke).

and you're making the rest up

Stolen games?
I dont think either goalie has stolen a game yet.
Both have had good games and have been factors to a win, but not really "stolen" a game.
Scrivens has come the closest I would think.

But I wouldn't say stolen.

I'm going to play Eklund here and make some bold predictions. !. gardnier will be up on the leafs by or just after tradedeadline. Grabovski is going to be moved to the hawks for a prospect or two and or picks " mark macneil" Bozak will be resigned but hopefully no more than 3mill. Leafs will pick up mike riberio maybe for mac arthur. Grabs is not liked by caryle. Bozak would be a good signing if its under 3mill. I have been posting for weeks riberio would be a great pickup for the leafs and they should go after him. He's the best of whats available. And i have no idea what toronto and montreal would trade or want from each other. I read a couple of yrs ago that chicago has always had interest in grabs.
