I agree that I don't think he should have been appointed the C but lets be serious... you can't act as though you know whats going on behind closed doors. Sure, speculate based on his play but realistically no one on this forum has any idea of the truth.

I recall a couple years ago when Dion flipped about someone changing the song that was playing on the iDock or something. What does that say?
I'm a sensitive female dog.
It creates a foul atmosphere where the word 'team' loses it's meaning. The 'captain' is a giant sketch bag idiot who loves Justin Bieber. Nothing like listening to love songs before a game, right? Get the blood flowing and everything.

Based on the fact that he doesn't resemble a leader?
You obviously don't work in the HR department.
But since you love Wilson's dumbass decision to make him captain, that's cool.
Lupul is all heart and soul. That guy can change a room and leads by example with his hard work ethic. Dion (frank)s up something every time he's on the ice, barely even hits anymore and shies away from fights. You can act like a leader but that's all it is, acting.
I hope he gets traded or at least has the C removed.

It's not that bad, If it's bad at all. Removing the C would cause unnecessary distractions. Dumb idea!

So you want a guy who is severely inconsistent and bone headed being the front of the team? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight, wouldn't want unnecessary distractions while we're in a four game slump.

wtf are you talking about?

The joke was that as soon as he got into the dressing room, he took over the music. That's it.

The Beiber stuff is one of our NCAA guys, I think Bozak or Gardiner.

No, that's not what i said. I agree that Lupul would make a better captain but the actual process of stripping a C from someone is a big deal and in a media hot-bed like Toronto would cause unnecessary distractions to the entire team. The media hasn't even hinted at the fact that Dion is a bad captain. Distractions like the Luongo incident (with the C) and the current Ryan Miller situation are causes for action, Not the situation that Dion is in right now.

Wasn't trying to 'burn' you. Simply stating that actions speak louder then words and you obviously cannot read body language.
McClement would make an excellent captain. But I'd stick with Lupul as the next captain with our current roster.

- optimus-reim

McClement I like, but captain needs a bigger role on the team (and he should have a bigger role), but he's still a bit new, and really is a role player. Captain on 4th line is a bad thing (McClement should be centering shutdown line IMO.)

I can read body language just fine. Phaneuf's the leader of this team. Needs to step it up a bit more, but there's no mistake when you look at the way the other players react to him.

He's not my choice as captain of the Leafs, but in that room, he's the closest thing there is.

There you go, I wasn't exactly sure about it. Nonetheless, nothing near a leader in my books.

I do. Both goalies have stolen games for the Leafs. Team's just been playing pond hockey for the last 10 games or so, and it's really bitten them in the ass these last 5... Though I will say, the last two, they've tightened it up, they just got too comfortable with a small lead in both games(and had some godawful reffing go against them). I think they're gonna turn it back around... they certainly don't look like a defeated bunch.
- Feeling Glucky?

Stolen games?
I dont think either goalie has stolen a game yet.
Both have had good games and have been factors to a win, but not really "stolen" a game.
Scrivens has come the closest I would think.

But I wouldn't say stolen.

if he plays at all well with Kessel or whomever, they have to resign him. Leafs are too thin up middle not to. And that would be MINIMUM a Connolly contract, probably more money, but 2 yrs for sure.

and I'm also not a fan, I'll admit, so there's that.

To all those ragging on Kulemin and Grabovski...

Please take a look at the quality of competition they are playing against as well as their offensive zone start % (which records which end of the ice a player starts their shift).

Check out this chart below:

http://somekindofninja.co...te-filters=Update+Results

If you're in the top left of this chart, that means you play against the other team's best competition (top) and play mostly in your defensive end (left).

With regards to Kulemin and Grabovski:

- they play the hardest competition by a huge margin
- they only see ~35% of their shifts start in the offensive zone

They're clearly being used in a checking role. It's no wonder they're not scoring. Kadri's line has been playing the role of a second line scoring line.

U want one to put you over the top? Here's a good one (statistically true).

The Habs have the best PP/PK ratio in the NHL ....by quite a bit too. Hmmmm

Be sure to post that in a response to Howard.

So based on McClement's body language that you see maybe a handful of times throughout a game (if on watching on TV), you believe this 3rd liner should be captain.

I like McClement, he's played well.....not sure I would make him a captain just yet....after 20 games.
