Hawks need to sign Leddy sooner than later period....
They wouldn't trade him now.
Leddy's agent only has an offer sheet as leverage....See Hjalmarsson. - Al
I agree....#4 got offerred a 5x increase from slick Dougie Wilson from $660K to $3.5 mil...and he had and continues to have limited to no offensive upside.
Hwks could get burned again on an offer sheet for Leddy |

If the Hawks would not have matched they would pf gotte a #1,#2, and #3 pick from the Sharks right ? |

Any deal is likely the "non exciting" variety. The only players I see leaving TO that would be possible and a possible match would be Bozak, Kulemin, Macarthur, Kosta, Frazer and Komi. Based on PK and 7th d man ability. They would be third line or lower guys on Chicago. Keeping in mind Chicago will be picking 30th over all the return would range from a 1st (only) down to.... well nothing and 1/2 the salary back for Komi.
On Chicago's AHL team the name that sticks out is Beach. TO doesn't need D, and with the lower end NHL player going the other way, anything beeter isn't waranted.
I'll guess its Frazer for Beach. Exciting eh! We'll throw in Komi too....
or at the high end
Bozak for a 2nd and Beach (inflated deadline pricing for an NHL center) |

I believe it was just a 1st and 3rd round pick that season.
Update: If the Hawks had not matched, the SJ pick would've come in at #28. As it stood, the Hawks took McNeil at 18 and danault at 26 (from washington). If Hammer had not been on the roster, the Hawks might not have made the playoffs, giving them a higher pick than 18. |

I wouldnt mind Bozak, but if the Hawks are involved in Komi, I may cease to be a Hawks fan.... |

Signed May of last year.
He had a nice WJC that year. Really stepped up. Sort of in that Kruger/Danault mold but more of a pure defensive centerman, IMO. |

Great preview as usual JJ. Wondering if Colborne/Bozak may be the target in Leaf land.
Andrej Sustr is now a free to sign as an undrafted free agent after University of Nebraska-Omaha was eliminated. 6'8" RH Defensive D-man.

Looks like someone the Hawks could use. Question is if he is a good puck mover - ikeane
Since Hawks scouting is at the University a lot to watch the hawk prospect that is there, I am sure they have seen him.
Did you notice there was little footage of him in the back p[edal, or in defensive zone coverage where you need to get to the man or area...that is what I wanna see.

Made some enemies at AllState yesterday (gotta watch my P's and Q's since I have Rush ST's too). Lots of dirty looks when I cheered the 2 goals and then at the end was screaming - blackhawk24[rhetorically], "Where is Bollig?!"
We didn't make any friends in Rosemont yesterday either. I've always hated the Wolves, no matter who they're affiliated with or independent. The advertising campaigns against the Hawks back in the day were bush league. |

Lupul will take morning skate before official decision. Leafs still in market for D upgrade and a big 2nd\3rd line centre. #TSN |

>Al, JJ, do agents have negotiating "restrictions" with other teams regarding a RFA player they represent?
>In other words, can Sheehy go to the 29 other teams and try to get a sheet or does the team going after Leddy have to "first" present Sheehy with an offer?
>Unless signed, Leddy will definitely get an offer sheet from some team -- to not expect it would be pure foolishness from SBow - SnapitUpstairs
In the old CBA there was a period of time teams can contact an RFA if they are not signed...

It should be interesting, what happens not only with the Hawks these next couple of weeks but around the league. I've heard Murray, Handzus and Clowe are all available in SJ and Gaborik in NYR will be shopped as well.
Take a ride in the Delorean for my look at 2 possible outcomes in Chicago this season:

Leddy is an offer sheet candidate IMO. However our neighbors down I-55 have 2 prime d-men in that same category if Pietroangelo and Shattenkirk aren't signed to long term extensions. |

Who the hell CARES about this game! The buzz here in Socal is incredible for the game on Wednesday. All the local sportstalk are talking incessantly about it and the Ducks are playing the Sharks tonight. Thankfully the Ducks have a history with the Sharks so they hopefully won't be overlooking tonight but still this is the definition of a trap game tonight. Bring on Wednesday! - duxcup07
I can see both teams looking past tonight, towards Wed. The 'Hawks should not have that excuse as they're facing the team that stopped the streak.
Don't know about the Ducks but I wouldn't be surprised if they're 100% focused come Wed night. They didn't get to that record by taking anyone lightly. |

Didn't the Ducks goalie have to stand on his head and stop a lot of prime quality chances... and the Ducks scored in the waning minutes of the game to force extra time... Didn't the hawks go into protect the lead mode?
It sure would be nice for the Hawks to blow the Ducks out of their building... then maybe the media would and sports sites would stop ranking the Ducks higher than the hawks in the power rankings... and saying ... Oh Chicago is 2-2 in their last 4 games.. |

Thought the game vs the 'Hawks will be Perry's 4th and final game of the suspension. |

Yike, just saw Brad Richards earns $20 million this year and is scoring at a 49 point per full season pace this year. |

This is funny. Last Monday, the NHL.com power rankings had the Ducks at the top. I don't get caught up in that, because it'll all come out in the wash at the end of the year, but so quick to jump off/on the popular story. I hate the media |

yea, the mistake was the contract
