Q with a great job to send a message to a core guy and everybody else at the same time. - philco28
Bingo...hopefully our GM is as commited to winning as the coach is. ballsy move to bench a TOP guy, when you're 23-2-3, up 2-1, but it was deserving. Most NHL coaches would never do that..
Lets hope Bowman shows the same fortitude by April 4th.... |

If Seabs wasn't hurt or sick and Q benched him strictly for his poor effort on that short hander, then he just gained a little more respect from me. Sending a message that no matter who you are, play hard or don't play. Obviously it lit a fire under Seabrook because he hammered that puck home and you can tell by the look on his face he's pissed. - RetiredGoalie

It's not a matter of hitting for the sake of hitting. Look at the example of the AVs tonight. Johnson steps up for the big hit on Bick and the puck is chipped out and leads to a 2-on-1 and a Shaw goal. |

That's the exact reason why the Habs traded him to Col: P.R. damage control. |

NHL network reporting Perry to resign in Anaheim for similar money to Getzlaf. A primer for Kane and Toews for sure...Just another reason why you can't sign Bollus for anything more then what he's making. So in other words, you either trade him this offseason or lose him for nothing after next year.
Bollus countdown....7/1/2014,,,, |

Not sure what his contract status is or if the Avs would ever consider moving him if they fell out of the race, but I have always thought Hedjuk was underrated. Guy skates well and has a great shot and is pretty responsible defensively. I know a lot of guys have talked about trading for Iginla, but in lieu of that, I wouldn't mind seeing a top line of Toews, Hossa and Hedjuk. Again, I'm not sure if he is a UFA, RFA or has a few years left. I'm guessing he has a pretty hefty salary, so it would probably only work for the Hawks if he was a UFA.
EDIT: Hedjuk is a UFA at a salary of 2,000,000. |

Thanks, you're right. Just looked it up. Hawks could easily afford him if the Avs would make him available. Would only give up picks or prospects though. Avs need D-men so not sure the Hawks have what they might be looking for in Rockford.

Ducks re-signed Perry, same deal as Getzlaf. $16 million out of $64 tied up in two players. Wow. |
