Let's hope this is the start of a long undefeated run! If you shut down that first line of Tampa's, there isn't much else there! Go Flyers!

he's done a very good job, and given them a chance to win most nights. he may have had one or two at most subpar games all season. when you consider that they can't score more than 2 goals most nights, and give up fistfuls of oddman rushes and point blank chances night after night after night - he's pretty much in a no-win situation. if he were lights out stellar every night, that would mean he'd get them to a shootout, which would most likely be a loss, and he'd get blamed for that too.

the team in front of him is poorly coached, and loaded with under-performing players. but yeah, let's blame the guy who's consistently been their best player because he has a 5.5+million cap hit and hasn't been able to save the team from itself.

Summer of 2014. Giroux, B. Schenn, Couturier and Read all need new deals
- Jsaquella

Couturier is not making much of a case to get a big raise. Neither is B Schenn, not lately. They shouldn't expect better bridge deals than the one PK Subban got.

He's -9 lifetime in the playoffs. Take away the one positive +/- year as a flyer and the other 4 years the Flyers have been in the playoffs he's -17.

I'd trade Hartnell and Briere right now if they can, bring up Wellwood, Gusty, Harry Z and anyone else with a pulse on ADK.

Season is done, lets get the best pick possible.

Also sit Bryz and bring up a young goalie to finish the last 18 games.

Getting the first overall pick is not out of reach.

I would not trade Hartnell unless the return was very, very good.

Agreed, and would have to be a piece that would fit into next year's line-up. Not a first round pick + prospect stuff.

Basically, I wouldn't trade Hartnell.

We've been down the trade Hartnell road before. It's a dead end.

There will be no fire sale. If anything, I can see Feds going, but not anyone else.

There is no reason why this team should be blown up again in less than two years. I'm sorry to Ed Snider for being so (frank)ing old now, but he's never going to win another Cup if he keeps dismantling teams left and right. You rebuilt, traded away two very good assets for a better future, and now you have to deal with the valley of this team's play for now in order to get to the mountain.

If they trade Schenn or Couturier for anyone that's not at least a number one defenseman, I'll be pissed. Give them some time, a healthy summer, and a fresh training camp--I bet you they'll look even better next year.

I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic so I don't think I missed it. I always thought that Briere's playoff "legend" was overrated and took the opportunity.

Hartnell for a puck moving defenseman.
Fills a big need.
Then they can keep Read by freeing up some money (hopefully).
