I'd trade Hartnell and Briere right now if they can, bring up Wellwood, Gusty, Harry Z and anyone else with a pulse on ADK.

Season is done, lets get the best pick possible.

Also sit Bryz and bring up a young goalie to finish the last 18 games.

Getting the first overall pick is not out of reach.

Harts isn't playing well, but I'm not high on trading him. Briere is a no brainer of course ... along with a couple of other guys.

They can have a quick turnaround without trading the pick...and honestly, I think that Drouin, MacKinnon, Jones and Zadorov could probably play in the NHL next year.

Not that they should, but I'm not trading a shot at those kids or some of the others unless I get a very good, very young player in return.

I guess it's too much to ask for, but I would love to bag a player that can help right away. Not a project that we hope works out. I guess I am still bitter after watching Kane tear up the league when we were last overall and should have gotten him.

Any of those 4 make it to 5? Just asking as I don't follow amatuer hockey.

Now that they are out of it, they could afford to sit Gervais and let him play the third pair.. Ruin for Drouin!
- Hextall271

If they had sat Gervais awhile ago, they might not be in this mess

Yep.. If we can start tearing down that part of the vet corps soon.. it will help.. feel bad for G that he's inhereted this mess and will have to learn on the go while bearing the brunt of criticism for this disaster.

They could. The top ten this year is going to get you an outstanding prospect. Those 4 are just the most NHL ready, from what I've seen. If they keep the pick, they can nab an almost can't miss prospect

I predict the Flyers have a couple of 3 game or more winning streaks in them over the last 18 ... after not doing it all year.

That way, they can get some of us to start thinking that the playoffs are a possibility after all, before finally twisting the knife in deeper and ending the misery.

I'm totally resigned to the fact that its just not happening with this coach.

For 6million a year, he sure as hell isn't helping
- Winning

he's done a very good job, and given them a chance to win most nights. he may have had one or two at most subpar games all season. when you consider that they can't score more than 2 goals most nights, and give up fistfuls of oddman rushes and point blank chances night after night after night - he's pretty much in a no-win situation. if he were lights out stellar every night, that would mean he'd get them to a shootout, which would most likely be a loss, and he'd get blamed for that too.

the team in front of him is poorly coached, and loaded with under-performing players. but yeah, let's blame the guy who's consistently been their best player because he has a 5.5+million cap hit and hasn't been able to save the team from itself.

I don't think so either ... but I have a feeling they're gonna rope us back in ONE more time, before giving up the ghost.

Honestly I'm Ok with patience. I would dump Briere,Gagne, Feds, Knubble for whatever we can get. Need to have the assets in place to get a Dman when Timo is gone unless he's a draftee.

The playoffs became a distinct improbability when they dropped the three straight to the Rangers, Pens and Bruins...even before that, it was an uphill climb.

Holmgren said there were 28 other teams scouting Sustr when they sent their guy out to have a peek...There's going to be some team that guarantees a NHL spot to him.

- Jsaquella

We should be able to commit to giving him NHL time this season, I mean, it's not like he's going to make us much worse playing in Gervais/Foster's stead. Plus, didn't we clear some contracts recently? Maybe Homer knows something...oh, also Meszaros (edit: Voracek too) is a Czech, like Sustr, maybe that'll help too...who knows.

People who wanna resort to this scapegoat the goalie tactic when it's not the issue... I just let it go one ear and out the other, unless they're blood related.

C'mon gotta go with the French D man when Briere is out there working his magic along the boards.
