eh, bump in the road. not quite as bad as couturier's year, but jordan staal went from 29 goals as a rookie to 12 in his second year. it happens. he'll just have to bounce back next year, he's far too young to give up on
- FlyerMike18

I'm not really that worried about him. Or about the team. I sort of got carried away in the spirit of the thr-- PANIC!

Sophomore slump. Trade him for Marek Zidlicky
- Jsaquella

obviously not in a trade (and certainly not for couturier), but i'd have interest in zidlicky this summer if he hits the market. wouldn't go crazy for him, but i think he'd be worth a look

Coburn is a much bigger concern for me. At this point of his career, Coburn should be the teams' best all around d-man at even strength and certainly he hasn't been. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go. They need a lot more out of him other then eating minutes at a low level of hockey IQ.

nice to see lava wake up and actually bench hartnell for a bit...cripes he's been downright f'ng horrible, just horrible. late on his forecheck - getting neither the puck, nor the man, and essentially trapping himself behind the play. taking stupid penalties. where the fck have these guys gone? briere, hartnell, giroux to a large extent, coots.....it's just amazing.

and could they could they take ANY more time trying to move the puck out of their own end? my men's league team is better at it. not kidding. at all.

another 2MM penalty. league high. nice.

With two stay at-home d-men in Grossmann and Schenn, plus Kimmo can be effective if they can protect him a little bit on 5 on 5 at this point in his career, Coburn has to the neutralizer and give the offense some pop, it just isn't happening with regularity. I'm starting to doubt whether it ever will.
