I think Vanek needs to go first.. his lazyness is just completely useless... the only reason why he is on this team is to score points.. and he can't even do that right...

At least Pommer is a two way player and Miller is a top notch goalie when on his game which he hasn't been for a few weeks now.

Pommer and Miller serve other purposes on this team.. Vanek is a waste of 7.1M when lazy and just awful.

- JVince11

I take it you missed Pommy on that first Caps goal yesterday.

I'm not saying it means anything. Just saying it was started under Nolan. You can say that means nothing because the fans started it. At the same time I can say a stupid marketing ploy means nothing either.

You really like to argue about pointless stuff

Still rather build with Pommer.Dont care about if hes captain or not but because of his shot and skills and hes worth his curent contract. The other 2 yawn who cares and for some of the reasons youve stated.I wont shed tears for any of the three of tho in the right deal.

WOW, "Vanek is lazy", while Pommer is a two way player that continually turns over the puck in the defensive zone, and waves his stick around to not get dirty. Just because you are in the defensive zone does not mean you are a two way player.

This team plays like its Captain, weak and soft. Even the defenseman are opting to stick check instead of hitting someone.

Move the C, and see what happens as a result.

One bad goal does not a season make let alone the past seasons of his overall contract.Pommers been the best bang for his contract buck of the big three.

Absolutely nothing until the entire core of players that played for Ruff for years is gone. This organization and team has a serious attitude issue. It translates to the ice

This article seems to claim that "The Hardest Working Team In Hockey" started in the 96-97 season.

Not that it matters, it's all just revisionist history, isn't it?

So did the Sabres brass instruct WGR to shut it down for today so no one can criticize this team?

until this season i was a huge pommer fan and felt he was very under appreciated.

but his play has slipped big time. i notice glaring mistakes regularly and some are of the lazy variety (which shocks me to see). frustration maybe??

for a culture change he HAS to go. fair or not he is the face of this teams failures.

oh- and he should have been the one blasting kaleta's behavior- not miller.

never the goalie...

Pommer is better for this team than Vanek is.... I don't think Pommer is captain material by any means.. but he is better for this team.

One bad goal. And when your captain preaches that you can not take a shift off, how does he start the game? I like Pomminville, he is a good complimentary player. But if you want to build around a guy like that your team will fail. We should not look at any of this alleged "big three" to build around. We need to bring in that has a championship pedigree and build this new program to hold everyone accountable. It will start with management and they need to find that player that commands the respect of the locker room. We don't have that at all.

That article is wrong. I'm going to drop it. I don't really care. My initial point was that people long for that era because of some misguided notion that they needed effort, not talent, to get them success, which was incorrect. They did have talent that year, talent at the goaltender position, which was THE reason they got as far as they did.

You are kidding me right???

That puck was redirected to Ovi by Johansson... Pommer was going directly to where the puck was traveling.. and against his momentum tried to put his stick back...

yea... trade Pommer for playing where hte puck was going and you are the dumbest GM walking the planet... even for an arm chair gm.

i think a big reason that era is so beloved right now is because they had an identity. something they could cheer for. and this area identifies more with that type of team than it does with the 06-07 presidents trophy team.
