Both your GM's said the Leafs need an upgrade in goal and Nonnis basically admitted he tried to acquire Luongo for Kadri but no takers.

I'm just dealing with reality here
, the teams with the best goaltending down the stretch make the playoffs and the teams who don't don't make it, I'm just offering my 2 cents on what the biggest Leafs need is to get them into the playoffs - if you are happy with the status quo for the next few years then good for you.

And to comapre Reimer to Price or Luongo is a bit of a joke, both goalies accomplished more by the age of 21 then Reimer has in his career - there is a difference between a future star growing into his role and a journeyman player being given the keys to the franchises playoffs hopes.

But good luck to your Leafs, they should make it, they would if they had better goaltending but we'll see how this plays out.

It was an entertaining game . It shifted momentum a few times . I hate the shoot out. It would have been great to settled in OT

Totally agree, I wish it was ten minutes of OT and a tie if no one scores. It never made sense to me, next-goal-wins is the most exciting situation in hockey, why not have more of it?

In theory,Americans hate ties, and having continuous overtime interferes with programming, and since hockey isn't as popular a sport, networks would probably just cut off the game for basketball highlights after the first overtime.

What I don't understand is that there were ties in the NHL since they began what in the 1920's ? even when hockey expanded in the US in the late 60's & early 70's. So Americans for decades have watched the NHL with ties. So all of a sudden, the Americans are confused about ties? What were they doing during the previous decades of NHL ties?

The shootout HAS to go. Here's is the solution that works. Nix the shootout. Play 10 minutes of OT. The team that scores get 3 points. The team that loses gets ZERO. If at the end of the 10 minutes, no one scores, they each get a point, end of game, game ends in a tie. Due to the 3 points on the line & the elimination of the loser getting 1 point, that 10 minutes will be very intense. But to make it even more exciting, the 1st five minutes is 4 on 4, the last 5 monutes is on 3 on 3. Imagine all the breakaways!!!!!

They way both the Jets & Leafs looked like last night, they better pray there isn't enough time in this short season for the NYR, Was, Buff & Tampa to get on a serious hot streak.

Don't know how or where I came up with this solution but it fukken makes sense. Would ADD alot of excitement to the game. Would get rid of the horrible shootout. Would elimate the stupid concept of the loser getting a point. Would make the OT very intense.

Yeah not enough time in this short season for Florida or Buffalo. I just don't trust Was, TB, NYR & Phil. U can never count them out, especially Philly & the Rangers.

Tess not that my opinion matters but you have never been labeled a Troll before. You always take a good look at the situation and evaluate it honestly. Esplen can be labeled a troll but IMO you are not even close .

I admit that I have fired some shots when I felt it was warranted and that is usually for a change up but when something was topical.

EVERY win matters. Of coarse every win matters. If the GM does not look like the picture after an emotional win then he shouldn't be a GM.

Leafs are better than the Jets any day. The fact that they can had the Jests free goals and then come roaring back is all I need to see.

Leafs hit three posts in the SO. Jets goalie did nothing to earn the SO. He simply just waived at the puck.

Jets are the real comedy show, with Dustin "the dough boy" Byfuglien screening his own goalie for an easy backhand goal for a player that hasn't played in 20+ games.

Maybe you should go check out NHL.com and look at Save % leaders and see where Scrivens and Reimer are compared to Lu...then if you need to come back here and say how much better Lu is or how much the Leafs need him, then we will know just how much of a troll you are...

Well monkey blower, nothing gets by you...but let me Ask you this, how many fans or experts have told you that the Leafs or Jets are Cup contenders? Probably not many, cause they aren't...so go try stirring up poop elsewhere

The point being- neither team is a cup contender, so shouldn't be surprised when they play sloppy games against each other.

Man you sound dumb... mtl has been ann average team for years. Fans of the team like the leafs tend to be pretty knowlageble. That being said soad made an observation. Like when the leafs beat us 6-0 people had things to say. For the most part the crtisms were spot on. Grow up, leanr to be objective. Its not a personal attack when someone points out your team played like poop.

It seems pretty obvious Toronto team do not have weaknesses.

Or everything is pretty average.

If you had a clue about hockey then you woulda seen our goalie wasnt the prob last night or the the last few games..

It comes down to our D men hanging our tenders out to dry with their awfull play..For instance the 15 mins in the 2nd when you guys actually got your goals..Did you not notice our D puck watching and not forcing the play but in fact letting you guys completely take over our zone because of it..What about the other 45 mins when Scrivens/Riemer was stopping the puck and actually had D in postion to pick the rebound up and move it..

But ya our D regressed in the last few games so lets hang the tenders because of it..If your gona slam our goalies at least do it when its their fault and not because the rest of the team goes to sleep..
