Quebec Remparts head coach Partrick Roy must be licking his chops right now. He gets his prized pupil back for the QMJHL stretch run and he will make the junior team and odds on favorite to make it all the way to the Memorial Cup finals.
I think that belongs to the team that only lost 6 games in regulation and owns two of the top three picks this year. |

Best decision they could have made at this point. It stinks to burn a year on the ELC, but no need to repeat the Isles' mistakes with Niederreiter...leaving him to languish on a fourth line all year when he should be on a first line in juniors. At least Grigorenko will get his confidence back, and, well, now he has an idea of how much more it'll take to succeed in the NHL. - UIF
this is exactly what I was thinking about when I was reading Garth's post. Better to let him develop than play with slugs and a tiny slice of ice time. He'll be back. |

Would absolutely love to hear what Lindy thinks about the move. |

Um, words can not even begin to describe my disgust and loathe that I have at this very moment for Darcy Regier.
I guess all I can say is thanks again for nothing Darcy and please DO let the door hit ya where the good lord split on yer way outta here fool!

He probably didn't want him on the team in the first place. |

More stupidity from Darcy....Here's just a short list I compiled....
- Letting Briere and Drury go
- Not signing Campbell when he could've
- Signing Leino
- Trading for Boyes
- Drafting Andrew Peters in the 2nd round
- Losing Hasek
- The Tim Kennedy Fiasco
- Giving up Jan Hejda for scraps
- Drafting a bunch of players that lack heart

I miss Lindy. Darcy should have been the one to go. And Rolsons line combos are crazy. Can't expect the kid or staff to do anything on a line with scott or hecht or kaleta. Especially with less mins than porter or flynn. |

I don't think it's fair to blame Regier for this wholely. Grigo had two coaches who neglected to play him with real hockey players. That being said, Regier should have been fired with Ruff and the organization started over completely.

Does any one know how this effects Grigo next year? Does he start on the AHL, juniors, or does he have to go right to his NHL club? |

Good move by Darcy, Grigs was by far the weakest link on a very poopty team. There are no role models for him on this squad, why totally ruin the kid by teaching him how to play wretched hockey? He's got the hands and the size, but has looked obviously scared out there, and is still way too weak for a real NHL role.
If anything, I think this signifies that the Sabres are giving up on this season, and we can expect the fire sale to start soon. In 2 years, after working his way up, I think Grigs could be our legit 1C, but (frank) me if this wasn't the right decision. |

3rd line, then the trainers room. - dadeadhead
He skated on the 2nd line in practice today. I think he needs to play in the top-6 to have any chance of producing. |

He was weak on the puck as well. Too bad he can't go to Rochester yet for 2 more years.

Good chance he would need 20 games to be of any substance . He just isn't ready. If he was ,you would have seen more production and major flashes of excellence over the line mates he WAS playing with . |

Im hoping his Q season ends after 1 playoff series so he can be sent to Rochester and it wont feel like a complete waste. |

- Letting Briere and Drury go (if they wanted to stay they would be here)
- Not signing Campbell when he could've ( fu(k that red headed stepchild)
- Signing Leino (hopes)
- Trading for Boyes (hopes)
- Drafting Andrew Peters in the 2nd round (again more hopes)
- Losing Hasek (he wanted to leave)
- The Tim Kennedy Fiasco (young smart ass punk. Notice how well he did on his other 3 teams)
- Giving up Jan Hejda for scraps (who knew)

That would be ideal, but he's not 20 years old or he'd be there now.
