He is not a 4th line player. How could you say he didn't deserve the shot. If they weren't gonna play him on a power play, or let him skate with some skilled guys, he should have never made the team. I would be okay with leaving him in the Q for this year. But after they committed to keeping him, especially now that they are in 2nd last place, they should have gave him some PP time, or some time with Vanek.
- JPlatt915

Travis Yost showed that he has been out most the time vs the other teams weaker players and still struggled, he had a hard time keeping up with the pace which is understandable as a rookie at his age, he needs more development

He isn't a 4th liner but he doesn't and didn't deserve top lines duties and well he kind of struggled on the 3rd

He just isn't ready for the nhl right now

Yeah!. Oh, nevermind. They never gave him a shot because we had/have so many quality centers.

But we saw that in his tryout games that his speed, decision making and strength weren't up to an NHL level. Darcy just trying to cover up they made a mistake keeping him up nothing more nothing less.

To be fair the sabres only made the playoffs one more time than the leafs in that time frame

How much of that is him, and how much of it that he's flanked by 2 skaters that can't skate about 80% of the time. Would Alex Galchenyuk really fare that much better in all that advanced stats stuff if he had John Scott on his wing? Something tells me not likely.

I also remember seeing a fan outcry that they want him on the team so he may have figured that into keeping him for the tryout coupled with injuries

Why they kept him past the tryout period 6games baffles me

So they burnt a year on his entry level contract for what? Less than 200 minutes of playing time?

Darcy needs to be fired. Buffalo fans deserve better.

So Staffords 2 or 3 goals is. Hecht never scoring is. Gerbe 2 goals is.
How do you not let the kid play and learn. Rolston just protecting flynn and porter.

He just wasn't ready. The bigger problem lies with Darcy and his mishandling of the current roster and talent. I have a big fear of allowing him to make roster moves. Let things stand pat til the off-season. Bring in a new GM at seasons end and let him make the necessary roster moves and run the draft. Bring in a current Assistant GM from another organization, let him hire the new coach. Preference would be somone from an assertive organization, who can compete with Detroit. Someone with no ties to the organization. Trading in the off-season will provide more return.

The majority who wanted him to stay figured he would learn in the 2nd or 3rd line, not the fourth. After his 6 games, 90% of us thought he should have been sent down.

Points wise it wouldn't help at all, but from what I have seen when he has played is he isn't ready for the nhl right now which at his age is understandable

He was a few steps behind but he will get better as he developes

Good move , He will not loose his confidence . He will regain his confidence . He was not ready and never should have been here in the first place . Especially in this screwed up season of no training camp or exhibition games and condensed schedule . He has an idea now of how tough it is and maybe he will work hard to be ready next year. Kid will be a big wheel in Quebec for sure now ! he still gets an NHL paycheck.
Darcy will have to pull a rabbit out of his hat to stay employed now for sure.
