So far Pittsburgh leads the votes for Iginla...not that it really means anything but out of 700 people 30% feel Iginla ends up in Pitsburgh. - Colin Dambrauskas
well yeah goaltending was absolute garbage in that series, but both teams need serious help on defence, which is why i think Giordano would be more valuable for Pittsburgh to aquire than Iginla. - Flames-Fan4
Yea, I completely agree. I agree that Iggy seems a little superfluous to PIT. Stemp adds scoring depth and Gio offers a steady presense that can play in any situation for 20-25min a night.
Still the return has to be solid because if we move Gio we have to retain Jbo who would have brought in a bigger, better package I think. We still would have no C for next year.

Look to the draft for that.
Mackinnon and/or Monahan are the two i would love for Centers.
If we could grab one of them and Seth Jones, it would be well worth trading Iginla/Giordano and whoever else
For what returns do you think, Colin? - TandA4Flames
(honestly)...very hard to say. Dont think the Habs want to move too much for a push this year given that they are still considered to be rebuilding in a sense...the Flyers have already invested so much in a goalie that, even though they could use the help, I dont imagine they would pay much for assistance in that department.
And Pittsburgh could use their assets for defensive help which makes you wonder if theyll offer much for Iggy.

theres always the buyout and i wouldn't put it past the Flyers to do that... with the new CBA its less impactful as a cap hit

I could see why flames fans would vote for him to go to Pitt. Golden goal, gets to play with Malkin or Crosby and score lots, ect.. But are they thinking of the needs of Pitt?
The reason i picked Boston is that they are looking for a winger. Not saying Pitt would not want Iggy but i think they are looking for D help first.

Pens fans don't want Iggy... their blogger says so-it must be true. So package him and Gio to Boston as I suggested on the Pens blog. Chara and Gio... yikes.

Why they eff to be so serious...its just a game? - Colin Dambrauskas
I know I'll get crucified but what about a JBO/Kipper package for Couturier/Bryz& a 1st. or Bryz was a pretty good goalie in Phoenix. Bryz & Ramo would be interesting next year.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Giordano is signed for 3 more years after this season at 4+ mil/season? No way pens are going to take on a contract like that when they have to resign Geno and Letang in the off season. There would have to be some kind of contract going back to the Flames (Orpik?) but that really makes no sense for either team. I can't think of any other large contracts Pens would want to move.
I really don't see the Pens dealing Maatta either, they need a defenseman with some grit in their system.

I know it's Friday but slow down on the CRB...
Seriously though the Flames could do that as long as the plan is to buy out Bryz.
And do we even know if Cout will be a true #1 centre?

When pigs fly. Bennett has had a strong start as a rookie and the Pens aren't going trade their first home grown winger in years for a rental. - Emperor Filonius
