Honestly... miller is not on the block... so we acquire bernier to get rid of enroth and then just wait for millerd contract or the offseason?

I think they'd have to add in someone like King or Lewis to make it somewhat do-able. Still a big overpayment if Bernier was a GUARANTEED starter.

Stoll would be a good addition, but we would essentially be trading Pominville for Bernier.. Stafford is a waste, and robyn is just a rental.. So looking at the main pieces would you do a Pominville for Bernier trade? More importantly does LA even have the cap space to take on about 14 million in salary?

I like the trade as is for a few reasons.

1) We dump Stafford and his $4 million salary.
2) Stoll is signed for 2 more years at a friendly $3.25 million per
3) Bernier could be our goalie of the future and arguably is as good as Miller is now
4) Acquiring Stoll allows us to move Ennis back to the wing where I think he belongs
5) We could trade Miller for a decent return to fill in any perceived roster holes

Sabres could go in a lot of different directions right now. I don't think they're at "add a few pieces and become a contender next year" stage. If we're going with youth, we still need a veteran or two that can lead and hold players accountable if they don't hustle. I think Ott could be good for that. I guess Kaleta....who else? Most good teams have a combination of youth & vets that lead by example. Darcy has his work cut out for him.

he was pretty physical with the 67' he's not a "Milan Lucic type at all " he's going to be a great goal score in the nhl when he get's the chance imo

Hockeyyinsiderr is a fraud. I'm pretty sure someone over the summer discovered it was a 17 year old kid from montreal... The same goes for the "sabres front office" twitter and guys on this site who pretend they know someone in sabres administration (as if some receptionist would get a hold of the latest trade rumblings ) TFP is a fairly credible source but when it comes to the sabres I wouldn't bet on a deal being made before deadline day.
