We already have him in Stafford. They are very similar players and like to vanish for long stretches at a time. Hence why Colorado had no problem including him in the trade.

I'm curious as to what you've heard? IMO, it's to early to give up on him. However, you have to wonder what his level of commitment is. Obviously you want guys who put in the work, like a Zemgus Girgensons. Scouts i've talked to have nothing but great things to say about the kid's work ethic.

I say keep Vanek and trade Miller and Pommer. Get Bernier and build around Vanek , Hodgson, Ehrhoff, Myers. Hate to do it but we have to do something and this is what I would do.

you know a guy like Vanek will want more than Zajac. His agent will probably look at what Perry gets this year and take that number to Sabres

Yes Vanek will get paid, but is 8 million really any worse than what he gets now? He still has next season to go, what if he isn't amazing?

I don't think he's better than Miller.

In fact I think he can put up the same numbers (or close to)Miller does for a much lower cost.
