They didn't have the option to match. It came out the Welker came back to ask the Pats for their final offer and it was 2yrs for $10mil total. If Gronk and Hernandez stay healthy and Ballard plays well we should be just fine. Especially with Lloyd and Amendola.

i really believe that will be one of the biggest steals this year.

why would LA take on J-Bo's inflated cap hit? they're already paying 7mm a year for doughty, and voynov is due a massive raise in a year.

as for miller being in LA...yeah, not sure i see that either unless we're moving both bernier and quick who just signed a long ass deal after a conn smythe campaign, something miller doesn't have.

I like the Seahawks to win it all at this point, but there's still lots of FA's and the draft to go before we get a good idea of what team will look like. Broncos definitely look like the team to beat in the AFC right now though, but the Pats will be scary if they're defence plays better.

They didnt get a chance too. Things went sour between managment and him and he was gone regardless...

There was a report on Twitter that Welker's agent gave the Pats one last chance to match/beat the offer but all they offered was 2 years/10 million. But I agree, I don't think Belichick even had him in his plans for next year once the season ended. Amendola looked like the target all along.

Given his age and what he can bring to the table I could forsee a scenario where Toronto makes this deal. The downside is the reported price tag Wilson has placed on him.

There's not a chance your getting 3 pieces for Clowe....and if your a team whose thinking about doing that your insane. This is a guy with 0 goals, after all. Now past performance indicates this isn't he norm for him...but still. If we're trading we're living in the present - not the past. This will affect Wilson's ability to put someone over a barrel.

Finally....Miller to the Kings? Really? Quick isn't playing badly at all - put that with the fact he's younger and signed for less money and it's nuts to even think about. This isn't even mentioning Bernier or what it would cost the Kings to acquire him.

I'm just glad the Niners got Bolden. And for a 6th round pick.

Yeah, that was a nice trade. He's an upgrade over what Moss did for them last year for sure. Hawks got a way better player in Harvin though, plus they signed Avril who's a good pass rusher.

For all the good things Bellicheck has done over the years, his hubris in my opinion is what is holding them back from a 4th championship. All these discount moves trading down in the draft and basically allowing McDaniels to bring in his St. Louis guys This is going to be 2006 all over again.

Yeah, IMO the offense would actually still be really scary if they can upgrade on Lloyd, a guy like Danario Alexander was a beast for SD last year when he finally got healthy. Lloyd's overrated IMO, always leaves you wanting more outside of that one season. The offense will be fine no matter what because of Brady and the TE's, but the defense will make or break that team.

Yeah I remember there being a NTC situation, I forget the details but it sounds like Calgary wanted to move him, possibly for salary reasons... Overall Regehr is worth a first rounder if Goose got one last year IMO.

Amendola is actually pretty solid, the biggest problem people have is that Welker didn't even get big money, went to a rival, and Amendola can't seem to stay healthy. Welker got lit up a few times(tough, durable guy), so if Amendola is used the same way I'm not sure he'll last.
