you can turn your fandom on and off...i have to do it every day..howie is a pro..like him or not..the fact that he grew up a ranger fan does not effect his on air job
- NYI78

I love Casey, have been a fan since Wjrs.. The others you mention are hardly full time players. Not sure about McDonald. If Findley can stay around, he will certainly help.

I define a tough player as a Matt Martin stlye player , as he should play. Not in his goon role. A Wendel Clarke, Rick Tocchet, Cam Neely. Lucic, Kassian, type players. Play the game however you want to play it, but big tough physcial teams are my favorite to watch. Todays Leafs and Bruins are fun to watch.

peter forsberg steve yzerman and nicklas lidstrom were three of the toughest players i have ever seen and they didnt drop gloves..we have different defintions of tough

interesting...cant the same thing be said about dehaan considering kassian and dehaan are both 21 and drafted in the same draft??
- LetsGoIsles

It sure can, but I still wanted Kassian over Dehaan from the beginning. He should have been drafted there instead of reaching for Dehaan there

Still not sure why the Isles didn't resign him

Agreed..that was definitely a mistake.

i would have gone kassian. although i don't know about kassians offensive upside...he may just be a bottom six energy guy. i hope dehaan can get healthy and stay healthy cause the boy can flat out play...the isles are dying for his breakout passes...

If you could look up the word tough on the NHL website, it would not have a picture of those guys on it.. Just sayin.

he played 4 (frank)ing games! are you kidding me..also he was called up before he was even ready...2 of them were outstanding starts...
- NYI78

And now he is hurt. I'm supposed to get excited about Anders Nillson? I'm sorry I'm not. I need to see a lot more before we can even consider him a #1 goalie. Not saying he can't be, but certainly not a lock.

Me to. I was furious when we passed him up. At least Kassian is playing. Dehaan?
With his frail body. He may never see the NHL. He gets injured just thinking about taking a shift.

Who the heck cares? I can't stand Howie Rose calling Islanders games. If my wife's in the other room, she always asks who scored for the Islanders whenever he calls a goal for the other team

Although, knowing Wang, the chips kid from the draft table is probably next in line for the job, so I should be careful what I ask for.

Really though, if Howie didn't get canned after that "Is it Spring Training yet?" hot mic moment, he's not getting canned.

I think the bigger problem is that out of our top three lines and top 2 dman pairings, we only really have two players who play a 'tough game'. Tavares and Hamonic. Moulson puts himself in dirty areas offensively but is awful defensively and not very physical in the corners. Nielsen/bailey/Okposo? Streit/Vis? AMac?

The problem is we know very little about his medical issue other than it's a b12 issue which is normally a major problem.

No, the Ottawa game last season and the Devils game last season. 4 soft goals combined in those two games where shots went right through him. Again, yes he is 21 and could be very good but the medical issue is concerning.

Exactly. Our middle 6 forwards don't really do anything when they aren't scoring. Which is most of the time.
