why is it that 90% of the posters on this message board can see these glaring issues yet Crappy can't? - Isles_since_6
You could insert Snows name there as well. |

I'm not sure why Brad Boyes still has a spot up there. He looked real interested playing defense and skating back on that 4th goal the other night in Pitt. Tired of that guy too. He might actually help the 2nd and 3rd lines. I feel like he just gets in the way of Tavares and Moulson - Isles316
or anywhere for that matter? Boggles the mind... You can tack up dismantling the 4th line when they had probably one of their most effective games 2 nights before. i can go on with this as we all know. |

Come on now we all know Brad Boyes is the power forward that Jt needs on his line. |

I'm sure they can see those issues, but they don't really have great options to replace those players, even for a game or two. But as I said, Matt Martin won't hurt you playing one game on the top 2 lines. Send messages that way. There are no consequences on this team in regards to ice time. |

You did watch them play right? Are you really trying to debate this? Do i have to tell you that majors is not a good indication of a teams toughness? - Cptmjl
- i did watch them
- i am not going to debate this
- you probably have to explain why majors arent a good indicator (not the ONLY indicator) of team toughness.
the point of bringing to your attention all the majors is that i dont think the islanders have been "bar none the softest team in the league" |

why do you keep asking yourself "why do you even entertain this poop" when you entertain it EVERY time without fail and when you arent even involved?

the fact aucoin plays with no urgency on any opportunity he has had in NHL says it all. Cut him.

Isles need to watch tape of their home game vs. Montreal. That was the toughest game they played all year. They showed sack out there that night. |

Big difference between playing soft and receiving fighting majors. I'd have to agree that we've played like one of the softest teams in the league for several years now, though we had a temporary lapse when Sutton was here.
We're a perimeter team that doesn't play strong in the greasy areas on either end, hence the 'soft' term applies. I think with much bigger players in our system now, that should change over the next couple of years, but right now we still struggle in those areas. - keaner17
i do not disagree...the defense has to pick itup... there is usually 1 dman a season that can drop the gloves...and the top 2-3 lines are usually pretty soft...but to say they were hands down the softest team in the league...id disagree. |

He has a lot in common with our GM and owner, three peas in a pod...

That was a horrible interview. Garth is in such denial or on too many meds, thought he was gonna fallout of his chair and pass out on the floor. You could tell Howie just wanted to say, "C'mon Garth, WTF? When's this team going to get markedly better via trade? The rebuild is almost a decade old and we have all these prospects and I'm SICK of your BS answers!"
Of course, Howie would have been fired, which I sometimes think he would gladly accept. |

This line might actually be our best line in some ways. It's an outstanding 4th line that many teams would love to have. It's the only line that we can say, yes, every player on that line is doing exactly what they should be doing, if not more and could be the 4th line of many teams in this league. - Isles316
100% true...for what they are paid to do, the 4th line IS the best line on the islanders |

this team is two top 6 forwards and 2 top 4 dmen away from the playoffs...its not that far off..once again look at the oilers..they are a hot mess...the kings and blackhawks were bad for a LONG time...i understand everyones frustration but this team for all its faults is getting there (slowly) - NYI78

They are also a goalie away. I don't think the Isles have a top goalie in their system. |

Boyes WAS a 40 goal scorer.....once.... JT never scored 40. They're negotiating a two year extension with him probably....won't trade him b/c they think this team can make the playoffs and go deep. Does someone have a pair of rose-colored glasses for me to borrow? I'm not seeing the upside of all this. |

the upside is he is the power forward JT has been waiting for. Why would you move him?? |
