What teams seem to be the obvious front runners for Jbo? There can't be that many teams with room for 6.8 mm under next years cap reduction...
Because he's the perfect guy for the Oil. Did anyone watch him last night? He's got wheels, he's strong with soft hands. Ugh, me want him |

Oiler fans have become accustomed to not making the playoffs and finishing at or near the bottom every year and guess what....THEY LIKE IT!!! So suggesting common sense things like perhaps giving up a high draft pick plus a player that has value for a good solid veteran or two , many of them don,t get this as they truly believe they are on the same path as Pittsburgh and Chicago and WILL win the Cup very soon with just drafting high every year and forgetting about all of the complimentary pieces that are of equal if not more value than the high picks. I was a season ticket holder in Edmonton from 2006 to 2011 so am very familiar with their thinking and logic. Of course some Oiler fans can see what is really happening here , not all of them are wearing blinders. |

"I didn't realize the guy had so little value."
This is a common theme when it comes to how you value Oiler players. - whipper334

trade that pick NOW.
with every win it gets less valuable.
and with every loss it becomes harder for tambs to do whats he finds so abhorrent. actually gambling with a move instead of just getting a bluechip kids handed to him.
the pick could still be extremly high and i think some of the bottom feeders would be very interested in the chance of TWO top 5-10 picks.
as long as its not a straight rental player, we're still getting a player who can help us long term.
do it tambs |

ryan obyrn, clitsom and or streit
rebeiro, morrow ryder and or dupuis
backstrom goalie
trades
nokelainan... i say it alot, but im telling you hes a guy youd want to bring size in your bottom 6 and is great on the dot. good center
id even suggest a trade to bring back brewer. crazy? haha - munky123
u do say nokelainen alot. guys looking more and more like a journeymen depth guy everyday. hes got size i guess.
hes not gonna fetch u more than a 4th rounder. so if ur interested in that...
o byrne and streit for sure help. like to have either of them. brewer would be good too.
morrow! hed be great. someone the other day was saying they dont want him for personal reasons!!..
hes chippy, physical, can skate, decent hands etc. he'd help us a ton imo.
vets are needed. we cant just fill our team with kids/
i think with the development of prv/hartikainen theres no space for dupuis.
backstroms too expensive. |

It has nothing to do with getting a top 5 pick. It has to do with making a move that makes sense.
We've tried to discuss this before and you keep spouting nonsense.
Tell me. Who are the Oil going to trade that pick for that fills a need. Anyone that could fill the need the Oil have is NOT AVAILABLE. Its pretty easy to suggest they give it up for a top 2 Dman or a top 6 winger with size and grit. WHO? It's not out there to get right now! - Iggysbff
jay bouwmeester? tyler myers? karl alzner? john carlson? brian campbell? jack johnson?
even simon despres (love to have him) has been getting benched and pits could have interest in whitney or hemsky (packaged) instead of the pick. these are just names that popped in my head as soon as i read your question.
outside of jaybo/campbell, i have no idea if the other guys are being shopped, but its certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
any bottom feeder gm who isnt at least considering the possibility of hugely improving his team with two possible top 5 picks isnt doing his job.
while on the flip side, any GM who just wants to perpetuate losing for these poor kids without taking a gamble and instead forever inserting 18 year olds into the lineup hoping this will change things, also isnt doing his job |

Exactly what does the fans opinions have to do with what the Oilers are doing? |
