I honestly feel like calling in one day to set Sylvester straight but he would probably just hang up. He was such a d*#! to people that called in saying to fire Ruff and he would scream back, "who are you going to replace him with", I can't imagine what his response is to people saying trade Miller, Vanek or Pominville.

Yes. They grill the callers to name the players one by one who do not care. They carried on how much the Sabres care. They are just plain nasty and arrogant.

What was the caller suggesting by "whole new team"? Exactly what gets discussed on here? That we need to rid ourselves of 2 of the big 3? Sell off half the other guys and go into a complete rebuild?

I'd be rude to someone suggesting that too. We beat the Bruins in regulation twice. We had one of the best games of the year against the Penguins and lost by 1 in regulation. Something like 10 of our 14 regulation losses are by 1 goal.

The team doesnt play consistently on a nightly basis. Too many nights off. Everyone is not on the same page. We only need a couple changes to our roster. Not a complete rebuild where we are getting rid of our best players now for something that may or may not pan out in 5 years from now.

What has anyone on our roster done to stay on the team? Hasn't Darcy stuck to "only need a couple changes" over the past 5 years? This core isn't working plain and simple. Now if they would have made it to the Conference Finals in 2011 maybe, just maybe I would be a bit more lenient but they got bounced again in the 1st round. We've given these guys long enough to lead this team.

I heard a good rumor today. The Sabres have a deal in place to move Drew Stafford to the Minnesota wild. Apparently the guy that was coming back to Buffalo was injured in their last game. My buddy is in Minnesotta and claims they were talking about it on the Radio, and one of the Wilds top guys is best friends with Stafford. The deal still might go down at the trade deadline.

Clutterbuck - A better skilled version of Kaleta. Do we really need that?

PM Bouchard - Another underachieving midget? No, thanks.

Zucker - one of Minny's better prospects.

Zucker has great speed. Not sure if he was concussed from Perry on that hit. No thanks to Cal and Bouchard.

Clutterbuck is a great guy to have but like you said, do we really need another bottom 6 guy.

bouchard no thanks

Zucker i know nothing about him..

all that being said, stafford for clutterbuck might be fairly even since staff is so overpaid. bouchard for stafford is terrble.. and i know nothing about zucker

By few changes I mean -- Rid ourselves of Leopold, Regher on defense. Flip Stafford for another 2nd line winger. Infuse some young prospects into our lineup on D and forward.

No reason to rid ourselves of Vanek, Pominville or Miller. Miller is understandable if he absolutely will not resign here. Which I think is the case. But Vanek and Pommer would stay, and we should want them to stay.

In all honesty C-Buck straight up for Staff would be most realistic. I'd like Zucker but I don't think they'd deal him straight up for Staff strictly from a salary (and performance) perspective.

The only one who will stay is Pominville.

Trading stafford for another Kaleta/Ott/Foligno type player would be a mistake...

We need a potential scoring winger...

What is this Zuckler?

Gomez was flipped for McDonaugh+... you'd be surprised.

I respect your opinion. I would like for Vanek to be resigned because he is a top goal scorer and a legit top line player but no thanks to Miller and Pominville. If all 3 resigned they would probably take up almost 30% of our teams salary towards the cap. I'm ready for new players and a new team direction.

That was a nice job by the Rangers, I dont see Darcy having that much brain power.

Got a prospect in McDonaugh at the time and turned out good.....

Plenty of trades like that over the past. Send Stafford to a place where outcasts go... Phoenix, Columbus. Players have revivals in those kind of places. He'd welcome it most certainly.

Stafford and a 3rd for Vermette or Vrbata.
Stafford and a 4th for Nick Foligno and a 3rd.

I might be off on the extras, but you can get it done with extras. Maybe sending them a mid-prospect or flipping the way I had the draft picks.

Not sure what makes you think Nick Foligno is such a better player than Stafford. Stafford is the better player in the deal. Just not welcome in Buffalo anymore. He needs a change.

Foligno not doing that well in Columbus either.
