the actual hit i don't have a problem with. If it wasn't as late or zucker had the puck it;s a clean hard hit.
- sens rock

So let's recap your assessment with a bit more detail. If not for the fact that it was well over a full second after Zucker reversed play by releasing the puck back to the blue line and if not for the fact that Zucker did in fact NOT have the puck and if not for the fact that the first point of contact was Zuckers head, and if not for the fact that it was blatantly cheap and illegal... Yeah, it was a clean hard hit.

Cry some more. That hit was not suspendable, I'm sorry you don't view it as such. Even Fowler said it shouldn't be a suspendable hit.

"It's just one of those things that happens with hockey," Fowler said. "I mean, Jarret Stoll, he's obviously not that type of player. I know he wasn't trying to put me in that situation.

"You don't want to blame him for what happened. It's hockey. Those things are going to happen."

Fowler got over it, so should you.

Its not about getting over it. Its about consistency that Ducks fans are talking about.

Well this one seems pretty cut and dry.

Pretty much the only ones defending the hit or arguing against the suspension are Ducks fans, tells you all you need to know.

It is not a clean hard hit. He nailed him in his head first, was very late, nothing clean about it. It isn't 1985 anymore, what was clean 20-30 years ago no longer is, and never will be again, so get over it, this is the way things are now and they aren't going back.

Your player is guilty, plain and simple. When you start playing the consistency card and whining "well how come he got suspended but in another entirely unrelated incident this guy didn't" ya sound like a 5 year old complaining cause his older brother got away with something. He is accountable for his actions. Deal with it.

You missed the point. How do Stoll (intentional injury to Fowler) and Torres (Palmieri) not warrant suspensions, when Perry does.

As for your comment "dirty blind side hit" that is a load of $#!+. Zuckers face and chest impact Perrys back. To be exact, his shoulder blade and below. Watch a reverse angle. did he deserve a penalty? absolutely. But not the 5 minute and match penalty + 4 games. Especially in comparison with what the Stoll did with no penalty nor discipline.

Zucker being knocked silly is unfortunate, but most likely the result of his head impacting the ice or maybe the boards.

- DuckPonder

torres was on 25 game suspension they reduced it 18 games...if they didnt do that palmieri would still be player now.. he just got off suspension then nailed palmieri...torres is a dirty player

Actually upon appeal torres suspension was reduced only 4 games from 25 to 21 and he served 13 of those during the Coyotes playoffs last season and the first 8 games of the current season.

Clean and dirty are too black and white, I think hits like this have to be described as an unintentional dirty hit or an intentional dirty hit. This one I believe was unintentional, 4 games is a fair suspension.

We do not know what was going through perry's mind at the time to make that decision. 4 games is absolutely fair, my point was, these hits are now deemed "illegal" by the league, not because players are pussies, but because we have 100times the medical knowledge these days to know how detrimental they are to a players health, on and off the ice. Someone saying these hits are illegal because players are pussies these days, is like saying our society is full of pussies because we don't allow smoking in the hospital or most public places anymore.

I agree with you 100%. Do you watch Mad Men, I love the scene where she goes to sees her OBGYN and he's smoking while giving her the exam, (frank)ing hilarious.

Haven't watched it but every single chick I have seen on that show is smoking hot (pun intended of course). That is how it was back then, seems kinda stupid by today's standards. SNL did a good skit on it and the premise was the doctors didn't know why the patient wasn't getting better and everyone including the patient were smoking. They eventually determined it was dirty cigarette holders.

Good to see all the classy LA fans have turned up to call all the Ducks fans homers. LOL. Talk about the worst fans in the league, at least I've never been spat at in any other NHL arena other than Staples.

It's also a laugh when you complain about our announcers when you guys have Jim Fox.

Shouldn't talk about announcers until you look at this list http://thehockeywriters.c...casters-in-the-nhl-today/

i think most people are "b!tching " about a single hit and how it deserves a punishment

DOes this make him a dirty player? no its one hit out of thousands hes thrown in his career

does this tarnish his value? hell no hes still a franchise player

there are some real interesting.... "logic" in this thread

Just watched the hit, didn't think it was that bad. He was shadowing the player down the ice, where did he think he was? Gotta keep you head up. I dont believe that just because someone is hurt, there has to be a suspension. By the way, Im not a ducks fan.
