Well played... However, as you'd see earlier, I proposed a new offer, which included Matt Read... - Flyers_V88
I suspect that if Winnipeg were to think about doing a deal with the Flyers for Buff they would probably them off by insisting that either Voracek or Simmonds be included in the deal. |

Big D like buff would sure help Edmonton. I'd be happy with 1st(won't be lottery) and prospect |

Not at all, Winnipeg wins when he is in the line up. They struggle when he is not. |

Is Buff a franchise D man you build around? No.
So, it is a significant overvaluing.
A lottery pick? No way in hell. Giroux? Only if they throw in Kane. |

I'm sure you could make this case for many players who aren't worth potential lottery picks. |

That would be a terrific trade for the Flames but it seems a bit much to give up for Philly. - S Kaspar Rollins
they have to give back salary to make it work, which they may be inclined too.
it is just grasping at straws though, don't see them giving up Cout AND Read for anything much more than an Ovi-type player.
Their farm is too decrepit to do so. |

Obviously some details would need to be tweaked, and there is the Iginla signing after the season, but salary dumping is a big issue for Philly right now. They need figure out a way to manager their cap next year much better, and guys like Timonen and Briere alone eat up close to $13 million next year. |

We have no farm lol... Literally, it's all dusters down there aside from Gustafsson, Wellwood, McGinn, and maybe Bourdon when he shakes those concussion symptoms. |

The only person I would trade Tavares for is Crosby, or Eberle, or Malkin, or Stamkos.
Putting Buff even in the same sentence as this is ludicrous and offensive.
I know it wasn't you, your just a fan, but the OP (even jokingly) has to know better. - FLflames34
For Eberle where do I sign? I love Eberle but Tavares is the superior player I do that deal in a heart beat. |

I don't.
Sorry (well, not to you, you're a dirty oil fan).
If Eberle played for the Flames, he'd be my new favorite player. I see him being as good as Stamkos in a yr or so.

While I can obivously see the impact Buff has to the organization, and he is a very valuable asset, you'd have to be joking for G. Flyers need D help in some areas, but not that bad. And I don't even know how many people, outside of Jets fans, would agree that they're even comparable in terms of value... Sorry, no offense meant by that, but take a poll around and see... - Flyers_V88
Fair comment, but why then would Winnipeg want to trade Buff? To get prospects??? If big game changing D-Men are so easy to find, go find one. Wait a sec, you have been. Not that easy I guess. |

This is stupid talk. Buff being put in the same sentence of names he should not be. The thought that Winnipeg would even trade him for comparable talent. Ect.
Again, Buff is not being traded, unless the Jets fall out hard the next 22 days.
So- to add Ek's stupid name rabbit hat discussion- what do you want from Calgary for Evander Kane? |

Kane has the nastiest wrist shot I have seen ever! Calgary has nothing of value for Winnipeg.. IMO |

I am a jets season ticket holder and I watch every single jets game. People that do not watch the jets regularly, which I do not blame them because they are small market, they have no idea how good buff is. Buff, if healthy and plays a full season, is a Norris trophy candidate. He is a beast. Coutourier has absolutely nothing on him. Flyers fans you would maybe only trade a first and couturier for him???? HAHAHA Buff is closer to giroux than couturier and 2 firsts.
My question for Eklund is... If Philly is going to make a proposal, they are obviously interested, what could they possibly offer that would make sense? Because two picks in the 15-30 range in next two drafts and couturier is not enough for this jets fan. I'm not being critical of eklunds rumor... I'm trying to understand what Philly could possibly offer to make it a trade winnipeg would even consider. |

That's true! I really don't see Buff getting moved....wonder where these comments are coming from, cause we definitely are not hearing anything here! But if you want Antropov, Wellwood or Hainsey....feel free to start up those rumours!!
p.s. Who finished 2nd in D scoring last year by the way?? Playing some 10-15 games less because of injury.... |

It's ok. When they start enacting the deathmatch each yr, 30 and 29 playing to stay in the league (like Euro soccer) we will play a match of epic proportions.
And, Calgary will lose, the Marlies will replace, and we will be screwed with two leaf teams in the league.
Hell.

Probably just b/c he doesn't have a robotic attitude like most players. He is human, acts like it, talks sh-t and so it's 'Buff rumors'.

We tried already for the best D in the league. Failed miserably.
I'm not trying to convince anyone that Buff isn't a force, or is worth Couts right now straight-up or for some package... What I'm trying to convey is that you have no franchise centers at your disposal now or in the minors, and while Couts isn't quite franchise, he brings what most teams would kill for... A guy who can put up numbers if used in a top-6 role and can play Selke-type D. Look at his play all last year against Malkin and the Pens, and other star players, and he shut them all down. He has the talent to become that epic 1st line center.
Like I said in my "revised" proposal, I think Read and Couts+ is more than enough for Byfuglien. |

Couts won't be anything more than a third liner... 7 points and minus 6.. not much of a shut down center there. |

I don't mean to be rude, but this is like two peanuts trying to crack a pistachio.
a) Buff does not equal Cout in a trade (Cout has the better ceiling)
b) Cout and Read for Buff is something I would have to cry about for awhile
c) Winnipeg trading their most consistent D for F help makes no sense.
