Oh you'd be surprised......but they are "fans"
- The-O-G

I think there are Flames fans that would want to keep Iginla at $4M for 3 or 4 years. He will get $$6m to $7m..... look what Doan got and Iginla is still better.

They need to parlay Iginla into assets. Keep the Kent Nilsson legacy alive!

I'm curious though, what would you want if you were the GM, what would your trade look like? Just curious.

I'm curious too, every team has a price.

Completely and totally agree. Send him to PIT let him make a legitimate shot at the cup, then bring him back in the offseason to become a mentor to the youth and assets that his trade will bring in.

Please don't let it be a repeat of Mats Sundin in Toronto.

- dal_johnson

Once he see's what it's like outside of the Flames organization he aint coming back!

Package a deal with Gardiner in it. Buff manhandled the Leafs last night. Don't want to see that anymore, guy is a force..

Iginla has represented the Flames Franchise as our captain and leader for the past 18 seasons with the utmost respect and decency that anyone could want or ask for in modern day player. Iginla is also a staple in the community with his continued charity efforts, kids sport programs, golf tourneys, hockey schools, coaching (including his own kids teams) and much much more without even thinking twice (never asked of him he just does it).

He is one of the classiest and most professional of personalities in the game today and will continue to be until he retires. For these reasons alone I believe Iginla has earned the right to decide on his own future. He wants to win here and has won everything but a cup here. If he is to be traded it will be on his terms and for once as a fan I hope he is a little selfish in this decision. He owes the Flames organization, The Flames fans and the community nothing......... We owe him the shirts off our backs for literally being the only thing worth cheering for in this city (besides Kipper) and for almost single handily turning this franchise around from a lowly northwest team into a competitive fight for a playoff gritty hardworking team.

It's a very tough situation as guys like Tanguay and Cammalleri were brought in to help the cause and get Iggy a cup here. As we all know (including you Oiler fans) it's not going to happen here and his window of opportunity is closing. For what it is worth I hope Iggy approaches management and requests a trade to Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh only. Give yourself the best chance to win, play with Sid and Malkin and get yours, just please leave the tears to Ryan Smyth and move on with pride!

I'd love to see the passion return to this guys game and unfortunately I don't believe it will be in Calgary.

Hey guys, for those of you interested in prospects, who the heck is Jesper Fasth???
I saw a prospect analysis on twitter today via NHL Young Guns Daily (@YoungGunsDaily) that compared Fasth to Hornqvist. Is that a good comparison? How do you guys think he will do when he gets to The Blueshirts?
I've never heard of him but according to them he is an intriguing prospect. Thoughts?

Put the pipe down. 99.9% of flames fans are now in agreement that Iginla WILL be moved and that NO ONE is the bad guy (except Ken King).

Also, Buff should stay, Peg has a shot at a playoff.

Ken King is a disaster. Clearly the worst President, CEO etc of any team in the league...... except Kevin Lowe of course

The only person I would trade Tavares for is Crosby, or Eberle, or Malkin, or Stamkos.

Putting Buff even in the same sentence as this is ludicrous and offensive.

I know it wasn't you, your just a fan, but the OP (even jokingly) has to know better.

Agreed...Tavares is in a class above Buf, not sure he's at the Crosby and Stamkos levels just yet. Either way, I'd love to have him on my team.

I think M E also has culpability. And, their fear of losing the fanbase a bit by taking a step back. I wouldn't mind Conroy assuming KK's spot, even with little exec experience. That is how little I think of KK.

Big Buff is NOT getting traded Ek.

& if I were a Flame fan I WOULD want Iggy traded.
He will not win a cup with Calgary. Unfortunately
This up to the cap Flames team NEEDS a rebuild like no other.

Like I said... Burmistrov has vritually no value to Winnepeg right now, as he's been a scratch more often than not lately, and Winnepeg's problems aren't on D. Flyers would also be giving THEIR 1st round. I think this is a faily legit offer to start with...
- Flyers_V88

Burmistrov has only been a healthy scratch once this season...he has had a couple of extended shifts riding the pine. In purely a hockey trade (Buf, Burmi and any combo of picks for Couts and a 1st) is lopsided in Philly's favour.

I can't understand how people say this. I get that he probably kept Sutter around too long. But he has built up the Flames Business rather nicely into one of the most profitable teams in the league. Not to mention added three more pro teams under the umbrella during his time (possibly 4 not sure when the Hitmen deal went down). I have no problem with King other than he is a little weak in his hockey knowledge. Ironic I know. Bring in a director of hockey operations but let King continue with the Flames Brand. I think it would be ideal if both reported direct to ownership.

They wouldn't.
Though, page hits don't come from talking about trading Mason Raymond.

If King is not the puppeteer restricting Feaster (and, at the later end of it, Sutter), please tell who is?
Serious question btw.

If there was a good exec in charge, the gm has full autonomy of hockey decisions while the exec handles marketing and growing the base. To my eyes, these responsibilities have colluded over the yrs.

Fair. How about...

Couts, Read, 1st, and Marc-Andre Bourdon to Winnipeg

Buff, Burmistrov, 2nd, 4th to Philadelphia?

You are a philly fan? That is such a godawful trade for the Flyers. I think you are a Jet fan in disguise.

LOL! I'm just trying to level the playing field... On my first proposal, something to build off of or tweak, the Jets fans went NUTS haha.

I'd want more back ideally for Read seeing as how he is a legit sniper when healthy. Buff is worth a lot, but the Jets fans seem to think he's of the Crosby or Stamkos value, where anything short of a boat-load isn't enough.
